是故爾等既盡厥職、亦宜曰：「吾儕無益之僕也、惟奉行所命而已矣。」』

如是、爾盡行所命、亦當曰、我乃無益之僕、行所當行已耳、○

So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say,‘ We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”

It’s the same with you. Suppose you have done everything you were told to do. Then you should say,‘ We are not worthy to serve you. We have only done our duty.’ ”

So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say,‘ We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.’”

In the same way, when you obey me you should say,‘ We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.’”

In the same way, when you have done all that you were commanded, you should say,‘ We are unworthy servants; we’ve only done our duty.’”

So you too, when you do all the things which were commanded you, say,‘ We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.’ ”

So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say,‘ We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’”

Even so ye also, when ye shall have done all the things that are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which it was our duty to do.

In the same way, when you have done all that you were commanded, you should say,‘ We are good-for-nothing slaves; we’ve only done our duty.’”

So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

So you too, when you have done everything you were commanded to do, should say,‘ We are slaves undeserving of special praise; we have only done what was our duty.’”

Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say,‘ We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.’”

蓋我引以為榮者、不在宣傳福音；蓋宣傳福音、在吾為義不容辭之事、實有所受命耳。若中途而廢、則吾其休矣！若予之傳道為出於自動、則受酬宜也、今既有所受命、則在予為一受託之義務而已。

幼輩亦當順服長老。彼此之間、皆當以謙德自束。應知天主損傲益謙；是宜於天主宏能統制之下、溫恭謙讓、庶得於適宜之時蒙其拔擢。一切憂慮可投諸天主之身；蓋天主眷顧爾等、無微不至。

予在宗徒中、為後生小子、實不堪稱為宗徒；以予曾窘辱聖教會故。吾之得有今日、皆賴天主之寵佑；惟予黽勉勞苦、視他人有過無不及、則未辜負天主之寵佑也。雖然、是亦天主寵佑而已、初非予之功也。

紛紛入歧途、溷濁如垢塵；欲求為善者、舉世無一人。』

又孰能施惠於主、而責望其報耶？

使其所由徑。黯澹多躓石。若輩何險毒。無故加橫逆。設穽且張網。欲圖我隕越。

其將斯無益之僕、投諸無明絕域、將有哀哭切齒者焉。

吾心白吾主。所天惟有汝。方寸無他好。懷主以為寶。城中諸聖人。亦是我所親。同游聖教中。其樂何融融。

以予視之、一切莫非失也；惟認識吾主基督耶穌之為得耳。因此予已犧牲一切、而視之如糟粕、一心惟望贏得基督、而與之合為一體。蓋予自身了無仁義、律法亦不足為恃、惟天主為仁義之泉源、而所以致之者、則惟信仰基督而已矣。

善者將曰「主乎、吾何曾見爾飢而食之、渴而飲之？又何曾見爾作客而納之、裸而衣之？更何曾見爾有疾、在獄、而探視之耶？」王將謂之曰：「吾實語爾、爾所施於我兄弟中之至微者、即施之於我身也。」

曩者彼於爾誠屬無益、今則於爾與我、均為有益矣。
