“ The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light.

“ The manager had not been honest. But the master praised him for being clever. The people of this world are clever in dealing with those who are like themselves. They are more clever than God’s people.

The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.

“ The rich man had to admire the dishonest rascal for being so shrewd. And it is true that the children of this world are more shrewd in dealing with the world around them than are the children of the light.

“ The master praised the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the children of this age are more shrewd than the children of light in dealing with their own people.

And his master complimented the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly; for the sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light.

So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light.

And his lord commended the unrighteous steward because he had done wisely: for the sons of this world are for their own generation wiser than the sons of the light.

因為你們從前是黑暗，如今在主裏乃是光；行事為人總要像光的兒女

你們都是光明之兒女，白晝之兒女。我們不是屬夜的，也不是屬黑暗的。

應當趁着有光時來信光，使你們成為有光之人。』耶穌說了這些話，就離開他們，自己隱藏着。

耶穌對他們說：『今世之子有娶有嫁；

在最小的上頭可靠的，在多的上頭也必可靠；在最小的上頭不義的，在多的上頭也必不義。

懶惰人哪，去找螞蟻，看牠們所行的，來做有智慧的人。螞蟻沒有元帥，沒有官長，沒有統治者，尚且在夏天豫備食物，在收割時收聚糧食。

但是永恆主上帝所造的、田野一切的活物惟有蛇最狡猾。蛇對女人說：『園中各樣樹的果子、上帝真地說過你們都不可喫麼？』

永恆主啊，伸手救我脫離這些人，脫離今世之人，其業分只在今生的。你把你的藏寶充滿他們的肚腹；他們因有兒女而心滿意足；便將餘剩的財物留給他們的嬰孩。

來吧，我們要用巧計來對付他們，恐怕他們增多起來；若遇着戰事，他們就跟恨我們的仇敵聯合、來攻打我們，離開這地而上去。』

我知道要怎麼作了，好叫人們、在我被黜了管家職事以後、可以接納我到他們家去。」

他們的結局是滅亡；他們所事奉的神就是自己的肚子；他們所誇耀的是在於他們的羞恥；他們是意念着地上之事的人。

凡不行義的、不是出於上帝；不愛兄的、也不出於上帝：在這一點、上帝的兒女和魔鬼的兒女就顯出來了。

誰都別自欺了！你們中間若有人自以為在今世有智慧，他就應當變為愚拙，好成為有智慧。

暗嫩有一個朋友、名叫約拿達，是大衛的哥哥示米亞的兒子；這約拿達是個非常狡猾的人。

他一說『從外人』，耶穌就對他說：『那麼，子民便是免稅的了。

主說：『你們聽這不義的審判官所說的。

現在你要叫巴力的眾神言人、和所有事奉巴力的人、以及巴力的眾祭司、都到我這裏來；一個也不要缺；因為我有大宰祭要獻給巴力：凡缺席的就活不了。』但耶戶這樣行、是用詭計、要殺滅事奉巴力的人。

但你們呢、你們乃是蒙揀選的族類，是王家的祭司班，是聖別的邦國，是子民做上帝產業的，要叫你們宣揚那召了你們出黑暗而進入他奇妙之光者的神德。

他必看見智慧人死去，愚頑人和畜類人一概滅亡，將他們的資財留給別人。他們的墳墓永做他們的家，代代做他們的住處：他們以自己的名稱自己的地。但人是不能久居於富貴的；他好似終被宰割的牲口一樣。這便是信賴自己者的行徑，是慶幸自己所得者的結局。（細拉）他們如同羊羣被派定下陰間；死亡必牧養他們；使他們直下墳墓；他們的形體必消滅，陰間必做他們的居所。只是上帝總要贖救我的性命脫離陰間的掌握，因為他必收納我。（細拉）你見人發財、家增豪富，你可不要懼怕；因為他死的時候、甚麼也不能帶走；他的財寶並不能隨他下去。他活着時雖祝賀自己，（他利己、人雖稱讚他），他還要歸到他歷代祖宗那裏，永不見光。
