He replied to him,‘ If they do not respond to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

亚伯拉罕说：‘若不听从摩西和先知的话，就是有一个从死里复活的，他们也是不听劝。’”

曰、不聽摩西與先知、即有自死而起者、彼亦不受勸也、

曰、不聽摩西及先知、即有死而復生者、其亦不受勸也、

亞伯拉罕曰、不聽摩西及先知、縱有由死復活者、彼亦不信、

亞伯漢曰：「不聽摩西與先知、縱死者復活亦不可勸化矣。」

“ He said to him,‘ If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

“ Abraham said to him,‘ They do not listen to Moses and the Prophets. So they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”

He said to him,‘ If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’”

“ But Abraham said,‘ If they won’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they won’t be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’”

“ But he told him,‘ If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be persuaded if someone rises from the dead.’”

But he said to him,‘ If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”

But he said to him,‘ If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’”

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, if one rise from the dead.

“ But he told him,‘ If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be persuaded if someone rises from the dead.’”

They set a day to meet with him, and they came to him where he was staying in even greater numbers. From morning until evening he explained things to them, testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus from both the law of Moses and the prophets.

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing,

Agrippa said to Paul,“ In such a short time are you persuading me to become a Christian?”

So Paul entered the synagogue and spoke out fearlessly for three months, addressing and convincing them about the kingdom of God.

Therefore, because we know the fear of the Lord, we try to persuade people, but we are well known to God, and I hope we are well known to your consciences too.

So the chief priests planned to kill Lazarus too,for on account of him many of the Jewish people from Jerusalem were going away and believing in Jesus.

When he had said this, he shouted in a loud voice,“ Lazarus, come out!”The one who had died came out, his feet and hands tied up with strips of cloth, and a cloth wrapped around his face. Jesus said to them,“ Unwrap him and let him go.”Then many of the people, who had come with Mary and had seen the things Jesus did, believed in him.But some of them went to the Pharisees and reported to them what Jesus had done.So the chief priests and the Pharisees called the council together and said,“ What are we doing? For this man is performing many miraculous signs.If we allow him to go on in this way, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away our sanctuary and our nation.”Then one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said,“ You know nothing at all!You do not realize that it is more to your advantage to have one man die for the people than for the whole nation to perish.”( Now he did not say this on his own, but because he was high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the Jewish nation,and not for the Jewish nation only, but to gather together into one the children of God who are scattered.)So from that day they planned together to kill him.

May God enlarge Japheth’s territory and numbers! May he live in the tents of Shem and may Canaan be his slave!”
