And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, if one rise from the dead.

亞伯漢曰：「不聽摩西與先知、縱死者復活亦不可勸化矣。」

“ He said to him,‘ If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

“ Abraham said to him,‘ They do not listen to Moses and the Prophets. So they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”

He said to him,‘ If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’”

“ But Abraham said,‘ If they won’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they won’t be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’”

And when they had appointed him a day, they came to him into his lodging in great number; to whom he expounded the matter, testifying the kingdom of God, and persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses and from the prophets, from morning till evening.

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in them that perish:

And Agrippa said unto Paul, With but little persuasion thou wouldest fain make me a Christian.

And he entered into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, reasoning and persuading as to the things concerning the kingdom of God.

Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest unto God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.

But the chief priests took counsel that they might put Lazarus also to death;because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.

Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.Many therefore of the Jews, who came to Mary and beheld that which he did, believed on him.But some of them went away to the Pharisees, and told them the things which Jesus had done.The chief priests therefore and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many signs.If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.But a certain one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,nor do ye take account that it is expedient for you that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.Now this he said not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation;and not for the nation only, but that he might also gather together into one the children of God that are scattered abroad.So from that day forth they took counsel that they might put him to death.

God enlarge Japheth, And let him dwell in the tents of Shem; And let Canaan be his servant.
