those who trust in their wealth and boast of the abundance of their riches?Truly no man can ransom another, or give to God the price of his life,for the ransom of their life is costly and can never suffice,that he should live on forever and never see the pit.For he sees that even the wise die; the fool and the stupid alike must perish and leave their wealth to others.Their graves are their homes forever, their dwelling places to all generations, though they called lands by their own names.Man in his pomp will not remain; he is like the beasts that perish.

“ See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

They spend their days in prosperity, and in peace they go down to Sheol.

Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.

Truly you set them in slippery places; you make them fall to ruin.How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away utterly by terrors!Like a dream when one awakes, O Lord, when you rouse yourself, you despise them as phantoms.

The righteous man perishes, and no one lays it to heart; devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from calamity;he enters into peace; they rest in their beds who walk in their uprightness.

But God said to him,‘ Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’

Then he went in and ate and drank. And he said,“ See now to this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king’s daughter.”But when they went to bury her, they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands.

Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,

that the evil man is spared in the day of calamity, that he is rescued in the day of wrath?Who declares his way to his face, and who repays him for what he has done?When he is carried to the grave, watch is kept over his tomb.

The field is the world, and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one,and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the age.The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers,and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,
