而此子狎妓、盡耗父業、乃至、則為之宰肥犢也、

惟此子宿娼狎妓、盡耗父業、既至、則為之宰肥犢也、

而此子狎妓耗財、返則宰肥犢以享之！」

But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’

愛慕智慧的、使父親喜樂；跟妓女結交的、浪費錢財。

那小的對父親說：「父親，請把歸在我分上的資產給我。」他父親就把養生之資分給他們。過了不多幾日，那小兒子就收集一切，出外往遼遠地區去了；在那裏揮霍資產，浪費地生活。

摩西便求永恆主他的上帝的情面，說：『永恆主啊，你為甚麼向你的人民發怒呢？這人民是你用大能用大力的手從埃及地領出來的呀！

那法利賽人站着，用以下這些話禱告說：「上帝啊，我感謝你，我不像其他的人、勒索、不義、姦淫，或者竟像這個收稅人。

永恆主吩咐摩西說：『你下去吧；因為你的眾民、你從埃及地領上來的、已經敗壞了。

但你這弟弟、他死又活了；失掉、又得着了；我們理當歡喜快樂啊。」』

父親卻吩咐他的僕人說：「快把上好的袍子拿出來給他穿上，把戒指戴在他指頭上，把鞋穿在他腳上；把那隻肥牛犢牽來宰；我們喫喝快樂吧！
