“ Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?

嚮者吾與爾俱、早已預告吾人必有憂患、今果見驗、亦爾等之所親歷也。因此吾迫不及待、儘先遣人探訪、藉欲知爾信德、深恐誘人之物乘間誘爾、則我等之所為孳孳不倦者、盡付東流矣。

耶穌應曰：『爾亦不知所求矣！我飲之爵、爾能飲乎？』曰：『能。』曰：『我飲之爵、爾必飲之；至坐我左右、非我能賜、惟賜於吾父預為之備者。』

蓋吾一日寓此塵宅、即一日有予爾激發之天職；且知吾之脫離此宅、即在目前、正如吾主耶穌之所預示也。
