Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.

凡不背着自己十字架跟从我的，也不能作我的门徒。

And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

Then He said to them all,“ If anyone wants to come with Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of Me will save it.What is a man benefited if he gains the whole world, yet loses or forfeits himself?

Then, looking at him, Jesus loved him and said to him,“ You lack one thing: Go, sell all you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”

Summoning the crowd along with His disciples, He said to them,“ If anyone wants to be My follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of Me and the gospel will save it.For what does it benefit a man to gain the whole world yet lose his life?What can a man give in exchange for his life?

Then Jesus said to His disciples,“ If anyone wants to come with Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of Me will find it.What will it benefit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?

strengthening the disciples by encouraging them to continue in the faith and by telling them,“ It is necessary to pass through many troubles on our way into the kingdom of God.”

In fact, all those who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

Yet he has no root in himself, but is short-lived. When pressure or persecution comes because of the word, immediately he stumbles.

and that is why I suffer these things. But I am not ashamed, because I know the One I have believed in and am persuaded that He is able to guard what has been entrusted to me until that day.

Carrying His own cross, He went out to what is called Skull Place, which in Hebrew is called Golgotha.

They forced a man coming in from the country, who was passing by, to carry Jesus’ cross. He was Simon, a Cyrenian, the father of Alexander and Rufus.
