Jesus replied:“ A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests.

“ The kingdom of heaven can be compared to a king who gave a wedding banquet for his son.He sent his slaves to summon those who had been invited to the banquet, but they would not come.Again he sent other slaves, saying,‘ Tell those who have been invited,“ Look! The feast I have prepared for you is ready. My oxen and fattened cattle have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.”’But they were indifferent and went away, one to his farm, another to his business.The rest seized his slaves, insolently mistreated them, and killed them.The king was furious! He sent his soldiers, and they put those murderers to death and set their city on fire.Then he said to his slaves,‘ The wedding is ready, but the ones who had been invited were not worthy.So go into the main streets and invite everyone you find to the wedding banquet.’And those slaves went out into the streets and gathered all they found, both bad and good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.But when the king came in to see the wedding guests, he saw a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes.And he said to him,‘ Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ But he had nothing to say.Then the king said to his attendants,‘ Tie him up hand and foot and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!’For many are called, but few are chosen.”

The LORD who commands armies will hold a banquet for all the nations on this mountain. At this banquet there will be plenty of meat and aged wine– tender meat and choicest wine.On this mountain he will swallow up the shroud that is over all the peoples, the woven covering that is over all the nations;

“ Hey, all who are thirsty, come to the water! You who have no money, come! Buy and eat! Come! Buy wine and milk without money and without cost!Why pay money for something that will not nourish you? Why spend your hard-earned money on something that will not satisfy? Listen carefully to me and eat what is nourishing! Enjoy fine food!Pay attention and come to me! Listen, so you can live! Then I will make an unconditional covenantal promise to you, just like the reliable covenantal promises I made to David.Look, I made him a witness to nations, a ruler and commander of nations.”Look, you will summon nations you did not previously know; nations that did not previously know you will run to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he bestows honor on you.Seek the LORD while he makes himself available; call to him while he is nearby!The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle and sinful people their plans. They should return to the LORD, and he will show mercy to them, and to their God, for he will freely forgive them.

Listen! I am standing at the door and knocking! If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come into his home and share a meal with him, and he with me.

Wisdom has built her house; she has carved out its seven pillars.She has prepared her meat, she has mixed her wine; she also has arranged her table.

I have entered my garden, O my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh with my balsam spice. I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk! Eat, friends, and drink! Drink freely, O lovers!

They will come and shout for joy on Mount Zion. They will be radiant with joy over the good things the LORD provides, the grain, the fresh wine, the olive oil, the young sheep and calves he has given to them. They will be like a well-watered garden and will not grow faint or weary any more.The LORD says,“ At that time young women will dance and be glad. Young men and old men will rejoice. I will turn their grief into gladness. I will give them comfort and joy in place of their sorrow.I will provide the priests with abundant provisions. My people will be filled to the full with the good things I provide.”

And the Spirit and the bride say,“ Come!” And let the one who hears say:“ Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wants it take the water of life free of charge.

But Jesus said to him,“ A man once gave a great banquet and invited many guests.At the time for the banquet he sent his slave to tell those who had been invited,‘ Come, because everything is now ready.’But one after another they all began to make excuses. The first said to him,‘ I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please excuse me.’Another said,‘ I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going out to examine them. Please excuse me.’Another said,‘ I just got married, and I cannot come.’So the slave came back and reported this to his master. Then the master of the household was furious and said to his slave,‘ Go out quickly to the streets and alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’Then the slave said,‘ Sir, what you instructed has been done, and there is still room.’So the master said to his slave,‘ Go out to the highways and country roads and urge people to come in, so that my house will be filled.For I tell you, not one of those individuals who were invited will taste my banquet!’”

The Ephraimites will be like warriors and will rejoice as if they had drunk wine. Their children will see it and rejoice; they will celebrate in the things of the LORD.

He said to them,“ Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned.
