“ Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

曰當竭力以進窄門、我語汝、將有求進而不得者多也、

曰、竭力爭進窄門、吾語汝、求入不得者多也、

耶穌曰、當竭力爭進窄門、我告爾、將有多人、求進而不得進、

曰『爾等當勉入窄門。予實語爾、欲入而不得入者、眾矣。

“ Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

“ Try very hard to enter through the narrow door. I tell you, many will try to enter and will not be able to.

“ Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

“ Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail.

“ Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because I tell you, many will try to enter and won’t be able

Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;

“ Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

The desire of the lazy man kills him, For his hands refuse to labor.

For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

Yet they seek Me daily, And delight to know My ways, As a nation that did righteousness, And did not forsake the ordinance of their God. They ask of Me the ordinances of justice; They take delight in approaching God.‘ Why have we fasted,’ they say,‘ and You have not seen? Why have we afflicted our souls, and You take no notice?’“ In fact, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, And exploit all your laborers.Indeed you fast for strife and debate, And to strike with the fist of wickedness. You will not fast as you do this day, To make your voice heard on high.

Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

You will seek Me and not find Me, and where I am you cannot come.”

The labor of fools wearies them, For they do not even know how to go to the city!

Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded,Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke,I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes,When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.“ Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.

So they come to you as people do, they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain.

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Then Jesus said to them again,“ I am going away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin. Where I go you cannot come.”

Because John had said to Herod,“ It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”Therefore Herodias held it against him and wanted to kill him, but she could not;for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just and holy man, and he protected him. And when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.

When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness.Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone.As it is written:“ Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him.And He said,“ Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said,“ I will not let You go unless You bless me!”

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not find it, But knowledge is easy to him who understands.

Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews,‘ Where I am going, you cannot come,’ so now I say to you.
