One said to him,“ Lord, are they few who are saved?” He said to them,

How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.

When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus,“ Lord, what about him?”“ If I want him to remain until I come,” Jesus answered,“ what is that to you? As for you, follow me.”

While he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately and said,“ Tell us, when will these things happen? And what is the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”Jesus replied to them,“ Watch out that no one deceives you.For many will come in my name, saying,‘ I am the Messiah,’ and they will deceive many.

“ For many are invited, but few are chosen.”

“ Teacher,” they asked him,“ so when will these things happen? And what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?”Then he said,“ Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, saying,‘ I am he,’ and,‘ The time is near.’ Don’t follow them.

Someone from the crowd said to him,“ Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”“ Friend,” he said to him,“ who appointed me a judge or arbitrator over you?”He then told them,“ Watch out and be on guard against all greed, because one’s life is not in the abundance of his possessions.”

“ So the last will be first, and the first last.”

He said to them,“ It is not for you to know times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority.But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

“ Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign when all these things are about to be accomplished?”Jesus told them,“ Watch out that no one deceives you.

When the disciples heard this, they were utterly astonished and asked,“ Then who can be saved?”
