Think ye that I am come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

你们以为我来了，是给地上带来和平吗？不是的！我告诉你们：其实还是分裂。

你們以為我來了，是給地上帶來和平嗎？不是的！我告訴你們：其實還是分裂。

爾以我來施和平於世乎、我語汝、非也、乃分爭耳、

爾以為我至、措和平於世、我謂不然、轉分爭耳、

爾以為我來使世和平、我告爾、非也、乃使人分爭、

爾意予之來、為授世以和平乎？非也！將予以分化耳。

Think not that I came to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law:and a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.

And I took my staff Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the peoples.And it was broken in that day; and thus the poor of the flock that gave heed unto me knew that it was the word of Jehovah.

Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

I came to cast fire upon the earth; and what do I desire, if it is already kindled?

So I fed the flock of slaughter, verily the poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.And I cut off the three shepherds in one month; for my soul was weary of them, and their soul also loathed me.

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places.But all these things are the beginning of travail.Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name’s sake.And then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another.
