So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said,“ It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”

Jesus said to them,“ My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

Now Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside on the road and said to them,“ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death,and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.”Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Him with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him.And He said to her,“ What do you wish?” She said to Him,“ Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom.”But Jesus answered and said,“ You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to Him,“ We are able.”

“ Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say?‘ Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour.Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying,“ I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”

Now they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going before them; and they were amazed. And as they followed they were afraid. Then He took the twelve aside again and began to tell them the things that would happen to Him:“ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and deliver Him to the Gentiles;and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again.”Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him, saying,“ Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask.”And He said to them,“ What do you want Me to do for you?”They said to Him,“ Grant us that we may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on Your left, in Your glory.”But Jesus said to them,“ You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”

Then Jesus said to them,“ My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready.The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.You go up to this feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, for My time has not yet fully come.”

So Jesus said to Peter,“ Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?”

But when His brothers had gone up, then He also went up to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there,

Therefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand.And He went away again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was baptizing at first, and there He stayed.Then many came to Him and said,“ John performed no sign, but all the things that John spoke about this Man were true.”
