惟不知而作當扑之事者、見扑必少、蓋多予之、必多取之、多託之、必多索之、○

惟有那不知道的，做了当受责打的事，必少受责打；因为多给谁，就向谁多取；多托谁，就向谁多要。”

至于那不知道而做了当受责打的事的，要少受责打。多给谁，就向谁多取；多托谁，就向谁多要。”

不知而作當刑之事者、見扑必少、凡多與之、必多取之、多托之、必多索之、○

其不知而行當罰之罪者、受撻猶少。誠以賦之厚、則望之深、託之重、則責之嚴也。

But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

But suppose the servant does not know his master’s wishes. And suppose the servant does things for which he should be punished. He will receive a lighter beating. Much will be required of everyone who has been given much. Even more will be asked of the person who is supposed to take care of much.

But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.

But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.

But the one who did not know and did what deserved punishment will receive a light beating. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be expected.

but the one who did not know it, and committed acts deserving of a beating, will receive only a few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.

But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

but he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And to whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required: and to whom they commit much, of him will they ask the more.

又如一人將往他方、召其僕以家資付之、或與金五千、或與二千、或與一千、各因其才、遂往、受五千者、往而貿易、又獲五千、受二千者、亦獲二千、惟受一千者、往而掘地、藏其主之金、久之、主歸、與之會計、受五千者至、又攜五千曰、主付我五千、又獲五千矣、主曰、俞、善而忠之僕也、爾於寡者既忠、我將以多者任爾、可進於爾主之樂也、受二千者至、曰、主付我二千、又獲二千矣、主曰、俞、善而忠之僕也、爾於寡者既忠、我將以多者任爾、可進於爾主之樂也、受一千者亦至、曰、主、我知爾乃忍人、未播之處而穫、未散之處而斂、是以我懼、藏爾金於地、今爾故物猶存、主曰、惡且惰之僕乎、爾知我未播而穫、未散而斂、則當以我金付金商、我至時、得以取其本、而獲其息、可奪其一千、予有十千者、蓋有者將予之、使其有餘、無者並其所有亦奪之、

蓋有者將予之使有餘、無者並其所有、亦將奪之、

忠於小者、亦忠於大、不義於小者、亦不義於大、若爾於不義之財不忠、孰以真者託爾耶、若爾於屬人者不忠、孰以屬爾者予爾耶、

昔我為謗讟窘逐狎侮者、但我所行、乃由不知不信、故蒙矜恤、

若我未來誨之、彼則無罪、今其罪無可諉矣、

凡誤干罪戾、無論生於以色列本土、或旅於其中者、俱為一例、如其故犯、乃褻瀆耶和華、不論宗族賓旅、必絕於民中、

凡無律獲罪者、亦將無律而淪亡、有律獲罪者、將依律而受鞫、在上帝前、非聽律者為義、乃行律者稱義、蓋異邦人無律、若率性而行合律之行、是無律而自為律、乃律銘於其心、彰之以行、良心亦與同證、其相議也、或訟或恕、迨上帝由耶穌基督鞫人隱微之日、依我福音焉、○

主呼之曰、我聞言及爾者何耶、陳述爾職、蓋爾不得仍為家宰也、

提摩太乎、宜守所託、遠不經之空談、及偽智之抵禦、

依乎可頌之上帝、託我有榮之福音、○

是以往時無知、上帝容之、今乃隨在命眾改悔、

惟屆期以宣布昭著其道、乃依拯救我儕之上帝命而託我者也、

若我有志為之、則有賞、即非我志、其任已託於我、然則我之賞維何、即宣福音、使人不費而得之、免我盡用福音之權也、
