It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them.

It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready when he comes. What I’m about to tell you is true. The master will then dress himself so he can serve them. He will have them take their places at the table. And he will come and wait on them.

Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them.

The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat!

緣此、爾宜朝乾夕惕；蓋爾不知爾主蒞臨之日也。

乃離席解衣、以巾自束、注水盤匜中、濯門徒足、以所佩巾拭之。

又聞一音發自天上曰：『書之：此後庇主之蔭而死者、洵為有福。聖神曰：「誠哉、若輩必得釋其勞苦、而永享安寧；以若輩平生功德常隨其身。」』

設有忠智之僕、受家主之託、督其家人、按時給食；主來時、見其克盡厥職、福哉斯僕乎！吾實語爾、主必以其全業寄之。

今予正徬徨於二者之間；衷心固願能早脫塵世、永與基督為伴；為本身計、蓋莫善於斯矣。

受五千者、攜同贏餘五千以至、而白主曰：「吾主昔以五千金見託予茲又獲五千。」主曰：「俞、忠信之僕也？爾既忠於小事、將託爾以大事。其進而享乃主之樂。」受二千者亦謂曰：「吾主以二千金見託、予茲又獲二千。」主曰：「俞、忠信之僕也；爾既忠於小事、將託爾以大事。其進而享乃主之樂。」

予之奮鬥、不為徒勞；予之行程、已告完成；予亦何幸而得篤守信德、舍命不渝。今而後已有正義之榮冠、備以待我；一俟彼日之臨、公明之主、將以斯冠加諸我首；豈惟於我為然、凡渴望其來臨者、亦莫不然也。

夫我良朋、既懷此殷望、則宜發憤為善、修身砥行、務使無瑕無玷俾可安心見主。

蓋座前羔羊將親為之牧、導之引之、以至活水之源；而天主且將親拭其目中之淚也。

凡百折不撓、終克致勝者、吾必賜其與吾同坐於吾位之上、亦如吾之終克致勝而獲與吾父同坐於厥位之上也。

當主之歸、見其克盡厥職、斯僕福矣。

且吾主耶穌基督永久之天國、當為爾洞開厥門、沛然莫之能阻。

自予觀之、生是基督死是福、如是而已矣。

我乃一長老也、曾目擊基督之受苦蒙難、且於來日將顯之光榮、預有其分焉。吾欲憑此資格、為爾中任長老者進一言。望爾等勉為天主羊群之良牧、勿用霸道、當用王道。毋惟利是圖、當以善為樂。勿用高壓手段、凌逼所管教友、當愛之勞之、以身作則、循循善誘、則於元牧顯現之日、爾等必獲永久不敝之榮冕矣。

然經有之：『天主為孝愛者所豫備諸事、實有目所未睹、耳所未聞、人心之所意想不到者焉。』

人欲事我、宜亦步亦趨、追踵於我、庶幾我之所詣、吾僕亦克詣焉。人能事我、父必榮之。
