But God said unto him,[ Thou] fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

神却对他说：‘无知的人哪，今夜必要你的灵魂；你所预备的要归谁呢？’

上帝却对他说：‘无知的人哪！今夜就要你的性命，你所预备的要归谁呢？’

神却对他说：‘无知的人哪！今夜就要你的性命，你所预备的要归谁呢？’

但上帝对他说，‘无知的人啊，今晚就要取走你的命！你所预备的一切留给谁享用呢？’”

神却对他说：‘无知的人哪，今天晚上，你的灵魂必被取去，你所预备的要归给谁呢？’

“可是神对他说：‘你这愚妄的人哪！今夜，他们就要召回你的灵魂了。那么，你所预备的要归谁呢？’

神卻對他說：『無知的人哪，今夜必要你的靈魂；你所預備的要歸誰呢？』

上帝卻對他說：『無知的人哪！今夜就要你的性命，你所預備的要歸誰呢？』

神卻對他說：『無知的人哪！今夜就要你的性命，你所預備的要歸誰呢？』

但上帝對他說，『無知的人啊！今晚就要取走你的命！你所預備的一切留給誰享用呢？』」

神卻對他說：‘無知的人哪，今天晚上，你的靈魂必被取去，你所預備的要歸給誰呢？’

但上帝卻對他說：「糊塗人哪，就在今天夜裏，你的財物就要要你的命了！你所豫備的、要歸誰呢？」

「可是神對他說：『你這愚妄的人哪！今夜，他們就要召回你的靈魂了。那麼，你所預備的要歸誰呢？』

惟上帝謂之曰、無知者乎、今夜將索爾靈、則所備者誰歸、

上帝曰、無知者乎、今夜將索爾魂、則所備者誰歸、

惟天主謂之曰、愚者乎、今夜將索爾靈、則所備者歸於誰、

詎天主謂之曰：「愚人、今夕欲索爾魂、爾之所備、將誰歸乎？」

“ But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

“ But God said to him,‘ You foolish man! Tonight I will take your life away from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

But God said to him,‘ Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’

“ But God said to him,‘ You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’

“ But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life is demanded of you. And the things you have prepared— whose will they be?’

But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your soul is demanded of you; and as for all that you have prepared, who will own it now?’

But God said to him,‘ Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’

But God said unto him, Thou foolish one, this night is thy soul required of thee; and the things which thou hast prepared, whose shall they be?

“ But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life is demanded of you. And the things you have prepared— whose will they be?’

But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you, but who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

“ But God said to him,‘ You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared— whose will they be?’

[ As] the partridge sitteth[ on eggs], and hatcheth[ them] not;[ so] he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.

Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up[ riches], and knoweth not who shall gather them.

For what[ is] the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?

For we brought nothing into[ this] world,[ and it is] certain we can carry nothing out.

Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay;He may prepare[ it], but the just shall put[ it] on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.

[ Ye] fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of[ thy] dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:Lo,[ this is] the man[ that] made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches,[ and] strengthened himself in his wickedness.

For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and[ men] will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

Whereas ye know not what[ shall be] on the morrow. For what[ is] your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

But those riches perish by evil travail: and he begetteth a son, and[ there is] nothing in his hand.As he came forth of his mother’s womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.And this also[ is] a sore evil,[ that] in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind?

He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all[ the things] wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.

And this[ is] the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.This[ is] the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and[ put] a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.

They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat[ was] yet in their mouths,

For while[ they be] folden together[ as] thorns, and while they are drunken[ as] drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;And shall begin to smite[ his] fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for[ him], and in an hour that he is not aware of,And shall cut him asunder, and appoint[ him] his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews’ enemy unto Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he[ was] unto her.And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.

Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me.And who knoweth whether he shall be a wise[ man] or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have laboured, and wherein I have shewed myself wise under the sun. This[ is] also vanity.Therefore I went about to cause my heart to despair of all the labour which I took under the sun.For there is a man whose labour[ is] in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in equity; yet to a man that hath not laboured therein shall he leave it[ for] his portion. This also[ is] vanity and a great evil.For what hath man of all his labour, and of the vexation of his heart, wherein he hath laboured under the sun?

Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.[ When] he is about to fill his belly,[ God] shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain[ it] upon him while he is eating.

For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

And his servant Zimri, captain of half[ his] chariots, conspired against him, as he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza steward of[ his] house in Tirzah.And Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.

Now Absalom had commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine, and when I say unto you, Smite Amnon; then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant.And the servants of Absalom did unto Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king’s sons arose, and every man gat him up upon his mule, and fled.

Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which[ was] in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein.Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which[ was] at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them.They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.Then the king’s countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.

How are they[ brought] into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

And Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal’s heart[ was] merry within him, for he[ was] very drunken: wherefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light.But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became[ as] a stone.And it came to pass about ten days[ after], that the LORD smote Nabal, that he died.

And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for he hath heard your murmurings.And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.
