And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink,[ and] be merry.

乃自謂曰、我有多物、積為歷年之用、此心可安然飲食喜樂也、

後將自謂我心心原文作靈曰、我心心原文作靈歟、今有多物、為多年之用、可安然飲食歡樂、

吾將寬慰吾魂曰：「魂乎、爾有豐財、足供餘年、此後可安心飲食、姿爾宴樂。」

And I’ll say to myself,“ You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’

I’ll say to myself,“ You have plenty of grain stored away for many years. Take life easy. Eat, drink and have a good time.” ’

And I will say to my soul,“ Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’

And I’ll sit back and say to myself,“ My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!”’

Then I’ll say to myself,“ You have many goods stored up for many years. Take it easy; eat, drink, and enjoy yourself.”’

And I will say to myself,“ You have many goods stored up for many years to come; relax, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself!” ’

And I will say to my soul,“ Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”’

Then I’ll say to myself,“ You have many goods stored up for many years. Take it easy; eat, drink, and enjoy yourself.”’

I will tell my soul,“ Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.”’

If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.

Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these[ things] God will bring thee into judgment.

Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:Whereas ye know not what[ shall be] on the morrow. For what[ is] your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.For that ye[ ought] to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning,[ that] they may follow strong drink; that continue until night,[ till] wine inflame them!

Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for[ riches] certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of[ thy] dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:Lo,[ this is] the man[ that] made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches,[ and] strengthened himself in his wickedness.

Whose end[ is] destruction, whose God[ is their] belly, and[ whose] glory[ is] in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart[ upon them].

How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and[ men] will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.

Man[ that is] born of a woman[ is] of few days, and full of trouble.

The rich man’s wealth[ is] his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.

Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion[ is] fat, and their meat plenteous.

And houses full of all good[ things], which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;[ Then] beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Woe unto them that join house to house,[ that] lay field to field, till[ there be] no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold,[ Thou art] my confidence;If I rejoiced because my wealth[ was] great, and because mine hand had gotten much;

Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;That chant to the sound of the viol,[ and] invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

For the time past of[ our] life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

Go to now,[ ye] rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon[ you].Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we shall die.

And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance:[ in] all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that[ were] sin.

They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and[ so] that day come upon you unawares.

Lest[ when] thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt[ therein];And[ when] thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil,[ when] the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;None[ of them] can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:( For the redemption of their soul[ is] precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)That he should still live for ever,[ and] not see corruption.For he seeth[ that] wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.Their inward thought[ is, that] their houses[ shall continue] for ever,[ and] their dwelling places to all generations; they call[ their] lands after their own names.Nevertheless man[ being] in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts[ that] perish.This their way[ is] their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings.
