哀哉明律士！爾曹奪去知識之管籥、己不願進、亦不容人之進也。』

『經學士和法利賽人、假冒為善的人哪，你們有禍啊！因為你們當人面前把天國關起來；你們自己不進入，又不容那正進入的人進入。

因為祭司嘴裏應當保存着知識，人也應該從他口中尋求禮節規矩，因為他是萬軍之永恆主的使者。

但是為要避免這事越發散布在民間，我們總要恐嚇他們，叫他們不可再奉這個名對人講論。』於是把他們叫來，囑咐他們絕對不可奉耶穌的名發言論或教訓人。

於是他們第二次把從前瞎眼的人叫來，對他說：『你把榮耀歸與上帝，向他承認吧！我們知道這個人是個罪人。』那人就回答說：『他是不是個罪人，我倒不知道；我只知道一件事：我本來瞎眼，現在我能看見了。』於是他們對他說：『他向你作了甚麼？怎麼開了你的眼呢？』他回答他們說：『我已經告訴了你們，你們不聽；為甚麼又想要聽呢？莫非你們也想要做他的門徒麼？』他們就辱罵他說：『你、是那個人的門徒，我們、乃是摩西的門徒。我們知道上帝對摩西說過話；只是這個人呢、我們不知道他是從哪裏來的啊。』那人回答他們說：『可希奇的就在這一點了！他開了我的眼，你們竟不知道他是從哪裏來的！我們知道上帝不聽有罪的人；但若有人是敬拜上帝的，又遵行他的旨意，上帝才聽他。從今世之初以來，沒聽說過有人開了生來瞎眼者的眼睛啊。這人若不是從上帝來的，他就不能作甚麼了。』他們回答他說：『你、你全然生於罪中，還來教訓我們麼？』就革除他。

法利賽人就回答他們說：『難道連你們也受了迷惑？難道議員們或法利賽人中也有信他的？至於這不懂律法的羣眾呢，他們只是被咒詛的罷了。』他們中間有一個人、先前來見耶穌的尼哥底母、對他們說：『若不先聽聽他本人的口供，而知道他所作的是甚麼事，難道我們的律法還定人的罪麼？』他們回答他說：『難道連你也是出於加利利麼？你去探索，就可以看清楚：神言人是不從加利利興起來的。』【

有一個律法師回答耶穌說：『先生，你說這些話，竟把我們也侮辱了。』耶穌說：『你們律法師也有禍啊！因為你們把難挑的擔子給人背，自己呢、連一根手指頭也不捫着那些擔子！

羣眾中有幾個法利賽人對耶穌說：『先生，責備你門徒吧。』耶穌回答說：『我告訴你們，這些人若不作聲，石頭也會喊起來的！』

會眾聽從了迦瑪列，便把使徒叫來，打了一頓，囑咐他們不可奉耶穌的名講論，就給釋放了。
