In fact, you bear witness that you approve the deeds of your fathers; for they indeed killed them, and you build their tombs.

如是、則爾祖所為、爾證之、且與之、蓋彼殺先知、而爾建其墓也、

如是、足徵爾喜祖所為、蓋祖殺先知、爾則建其墓矣、

如是爾祖所為、爾自證之、且喜之、蓋爾祖殺先知、爾則建其墓、

祖殺先知、而爾築其墓足徵爾實默認乃祖之所為矣。

So you testify that you approve of what your ancestors did; they killed the prophets, and you build their tombs.

So you show that you agree with what your people did long ago. They killed the prophets, and now you build the prophets’ tombs.

So you are witnesses and you consent to the deeds of your fathers, for they killed them, and you build their tombs.

But in fact, you stand as witnesses who agree with what your ancestors did. They killed the prophets, and you join in their crime by building the monuments!

Therefore, you are witnesses that you approve the deeds of your fathers, for they killed them, and you build their monuments.

So you are witnesses and you approve of the deeds of your fathers; because it was they who killed them, and you build their tombs.

But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy.

So Joshua said to the people,“ You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen the Lord for yourselves, to serve Him.” And they said,“ We are witnesses!”

My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience.

“ Yet you say,‘ Why should the son not bear the guilt of the father?’ Because the son has done what is lawful and right, and has kept all My statutes and observed them, he shall surely live.

Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment.They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented—of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.
