But now as for what is inside you— be generous to the poor, and everything will be clean for you.

Give freely to poor people to show what is inside you. Then everything will be clean for you.

But give as alms those things that are within, and behold, everything is clean for you.

So clean the inside by giving gifts to the poor, and you will be clean all over.

But give from what is within to the poor, and then everything is clean for you.

But give that which is within as a charitable gift, and then all things are clean for you.

But rather give alms of such things as you have; then indeed all things are clean to you.

But give for alms those things which are within; and behold, all things are clean unto you.

But give from your heart to those in need, and then everything will be clean for you.

But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and behold, all things will be clean to you.

Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Make money-bags for yourselves that won’t grow old, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.

Don’t neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.

And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of the unrighteous money so that when it fails, they may welcome you into eternal dwellings.

Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

To the pure, everything is pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; in fact, both their mind and conscience are defiled.

The one who oppresses the poor person insults his Maker, but one who is kind to the needy honors Him.

Therefore, may my advice seem good to you my king. Separate yourself from your sins by doing what is right, and from your injustices by showing mercy to the needy. Perhaps there will be an extension of your prosperity.”

Now as you excel in everything— faith, speech, knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love for us— excel also in this grace.I am not saying this as a command. Rather, by means of the diligence of others, I am testing the genuineness of your love.For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though He was rich, for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich.

Kindness to the poor is a loan to the Lord, and He will give a reward to the lender.

Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, to bring the poor and homeless into your house, to clothe the naked when you see him, and not to ignore your own flesh and blood?Then your light will appear like the dawn, and your recovery will come quickly. Your righteousness will go before you, and the Lord’s glory will be your rear guard.At that time, when you call, the Lord will answer; when you cry out, He will say,‘ Here I am.’ If you get rid of the yoke among you, the finger-pointing and malicious speaking,and if you offer yourself to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted one, then your light will shine in the darkness, and your night will be like noonday.The Lord will always lead you, satisfy you in a parched land, and strengthen your bones. You will be like a watered garden and like a spring whose waters never run dry.

Again, a second time, a voice said to him,“ What God has made clean, you must not call common.”

Happy is one who cares for the poor; the Lord will save him in a day of adversity.

For God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you showed for His name when you served the saints— and you continue to serve them.

Give to the one who asks you, and don’t turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

When Jesus heard this, He told him,“ You still lack one thing: Sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”

For if the eagerness is there, it is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.

In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas. She was always doing good works and acts of charity.In those days she became sick and died. After washing her, they placed her in a room upstairs.Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples heard that Peter was there and sent two men to him who begged him,“ Don’t delay in coming with us.”So Peter got up and went with them. When he arrived, they led him to the room upstairs. And all the widows approached him, weeping and showing him the robes and clothes that Dorcas had made while she was with them.

“ Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of people, to be seen by them. Otherwise, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.So whenever you give to the poor, don’t sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be applauded by people. I assure you: They’ve got their reward!But when you give to the poor, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

He also said to the one who had invited Him,“ When you give a lunch or a dinner, don’t invite your friends, your brothers, your relatives, or your rich neighbors, because they might invite you back, and you would be repaid.On the contrary, when you host a banquet, invite those who are poor, maimed, lame, or blind.And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

Then the King will say to those on His right,‘ Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you took care of Me; I was in prison and you visited Me.’“ Then the righteous will answer Him,‘ Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink?When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or without clothes and clothe You?When did we see You sick, or in prison, and visit You?’“ And the King will answer them,‘ I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’

He distributes freely to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. His horn will be exalted in honor.

Remember this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously.Each person should do as he has decided in his heart— not reluctantly or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work.As it is written: He scattered; He gave to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.Now the One who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your seed and increase the harvest of your righteousness.You will be enriched in every way for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us.For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing in many acts of thanksgiving to God.They will glorify God for your obedience to the confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with others through the proof provided by this service.And they will have deep affection for you in their prayers on your behalf because of the surpassing grace of God in you.Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.

But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord,“ Look, I’ll give half of my possessions to the poor, Lord! And if I have extorted anything from anyone, I’ll pay back four times as much!”

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can his faith save him?If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily foodand one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it?

Send your bread on the surface of the waters, for after many days you may find it.Give a portion to seven or even to eight, for you don’t know what disaster may happen on earth.

Instead, you are to open your hand to him and freely loan him enough for whatever need he has.Be careful that there isn’t this wicked thought in your heart,‘ The seventh year, the year of canceling debts, is near,’ and you are stingy toward your poor brother and give him nothing. He will cry out to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty.Give to him, and don’t have a stingy heart when you give, and because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you do.

Yes, this will result in my deliverance, for no godless person can appear before Him.Pay close attention to my words; let my declaration ring in your ears.Now then, I have prepared my case; I know that I am right.Can anyone indict me? If so, I will be silent and die.Only grant these two things to me, God, so that I will not have to hide from Your presence:

So each of the disciples, according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea.

After many years, I came to bring charitable gifts and offerings to my nation,

The thief must no longer steal. Instead, he must do honest work with his own hands, so that he has something to share with anyone in need.

and said,‘ Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your acts of charity have been remembered in God’s sight.Therefore send someone to Joppa and invite Simon here, who is also named Peter. He is lodging in Simon the tanner’s house by the sea.’

For everything created by God is good, and nothing should be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,since it is sanctified by the word of God and by prayer.

You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me.

( I know and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself. Still, to someone who considers a thing to be unclean, to that one it is unclean.)For if your brother is hurt by what you eat, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not destroy that one Christ died for by what you eat.Therefore, do not let your good be slandered,for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.Whoever serves Christ in this way is acceptable to God and approved by men.
