「眼睛是身體的燈，所以，如果你的眼睛純淨，你的全身就光明；如果你的眼睛汙濁，你的全身就黑暗。因此，光如果在你裡面成了黑暗，那是多麼大的黑暗！

求你開啟我的眼睛，使我看出你律法中的奇妙。

可是我擔心，恐怕你們的思想受到敗壞，離開對基督的忠實和貞潔，就像蛇用牠的詭計欺騙了夏娃那樣。

對於他們，這世代的神把這些不信之人的心眼弄瞎了，使他們不能洞察基督榮耀的福音之光。基督就是神的形像。

願我們主耶穌基督的神——榮耀的父，賜給你們智慧和啟示的靈，使你們能真正地認識他。

為了開啟他們的眼睛，使他們從黑暗歸向光明，從撒旦的權勢下歸向神，使他們因著信我，罪得赦免，並且與那些被分別為聖的人同得繼業。』

正如經上所記：「神給了他們昏迷的心靈、看不見的眼睛、聽不見的耳朵，直到今天。」大衛也說：「讓他們的筵席成為網羅、陷阱、絆腳石，又成為他們的報應。讓他們的眼睛昏暗不能看。讓他們的腰背永遠彎曲。」

你們有眼睛卻看不見，有耳朵卻聽不見嗎？難道不記得嗎？

你們做奴僕的，凡事都要順從自己在世上的主人，不要只在人眼前服事，像是討人的歡心，而要以忠實的心敬畏主。

這不法之人的到來，是出於撒旦的作為，對那些正在滅亡的人，使用一切能力、虛假的神蹟和奇事，並且使用一切不義的詭計，因為他們不接受那能使他們得救的真理之愛。為此，神就把一種迷惑人的力量送進他們裡面，使他們相信虛假之事，好使所有不相信真理而喜悅不義的人，都被定罪。

這是為要使『他們看了又看，卻不明白，聽了又聽，卻不領悟，免得他們回轉過來，就被赦免。』」

我們所誇耀的是這一點：我們的良心見證了我們在世上行事為人帶著屬神的忠實和真誠，不是靠屬肉體的智慧，而是靠神的恩典；對你們更是如此。

除了我僕人以外，有誰是瞎眼的？有誰像我所派遣的使者那樣是耳聾的？有誰像我所揀選的人那樣是瞎眼的，有誰像耶和華的僕人那樣是瞎眼的？

貪婪的人，急切要發財，但他不明白窮乏將臨到他。

而是因為耶和華用沉睡的靈澆灌你們；他封閉了你們的眼睛，就是眾先知；他蒙住了你們的頭，就是眾先見。

這樣的人不明白，也不領悟，因為耶和華蒙蔽他們的眼使他們不能看見，蒙蔽他們的心使他們不能明悟。

通姦、貪心、惡意、欺詐、好色、嫉妒、毀謗、驕傲、愚妄，

他們同心合意，不但天天恆切地在聖殿聚集，還在各家各戶掰餅。他們懷著喜樂和誠懇的心用飯，

我就任憑他們心裡頑固，隨自己的計謀而行。

看哪，現在主的手臨到你，你要瞎眼，暫時看不見日光。」立刻，迷霧和黑暗籠罩了他，他四處摸索，求人牽手領路。

讓這子民的心麻木，耳朵發沉，眼睛蒙蔽，免得他們眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裡領悟，回轉過來，就得痊癒。」

他們又擊打屋門口的那些人，使他們無論老少都眼目失明，以致他們找不到門。

你們做奴僕的，要懷著敬畏和戰兢，以忠實的心順從自己在世上的主人，就像聽從基督一樣。
