「沒有人點上油燈，用器皿蓋住或放在床底下，而是放在燈臺上，好讓進來的人能看見光。隱祕的事沒有不顯露的，隱藏的事絕沒有不被知道、不顯露出來的。

耶穌又對他們說：「油燈拿進來，難道是為了放在斗底下，或床底下嗎？不是為了放在燈臺上嗎？這樣，就算是隱祕的事，也沒有不顯明出來的；即使是隱藏的事，也沒有不顯露出來的。

人點亮了油燈，也不會放在斗底下，而會放在燈臺上，它就照亮屋子裡所有的人。同樣，你們的光也應當照耀在人前，使他們看見你們的美好工作，就榮耀你們在天上的父。

我就是光。我來到世上，好讓所有信我的人不住在黑暗裡。

好使你們成為無可指責、純潔無偽的人，在這扭曲、敗壞的世代中，做神毫無瑕疵的兒女；在這世代中，要像星星的光輝一樣照耀在世上。你們要持守生命的話語，好讓我在基督的日子裡可以誇耀我所奔跑的沒有落空，我所勞苦的也沒有落空。

我在暗中告訴你們的，你們要在明處說出來；你們在耳邊聽到的，要在屋頂上宣揚出去。

耶穌回答：「白天不是有十二個小時嗎？人如果在白天行走，就不會絆倒，因為他看見這世界的光。
