人未有燃燈而置諸庫中斗下者、必安之於燈臺之上、使入室者咸得見光明也。

“ No one lights a lamp and hides it. No one puts it under a bowl. Instead, they put a lamp on its stand. Then those who come in can see the light.

He said to them,“ Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand?For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.

Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

so that you may become blameless and pure,“ children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the skyas you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.

What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.

Jesus answered,“ Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble, for they see by this world’s light.
