示巴女王聽見所羅門的名聲，就來到耶路撒冷，要用難題試試所羅門。跟隨她的人很多，又有駱駝馱著香料、大批黃金和寶石。她來到所羅門那裡，就把她心裡所有的難題，都對所羅門說出來。

示巴女王聽到所羅門因耶和華的名所得的名聲，就來要用難題試試他。她帶著大批隨員到耶路撒冷來，又有駱駝馱著香料、許多金子和寶石。她來到所羅門那裡，就把她心裡所有的難題都對他說出來。所羅門把她所有的問題都給她解說明白，沒有一件事難倒王，使王不能回答她的。示巴女王看見所羅門的一切智慧和他建造的宮殿、桌上的食物、臣僕的座位、僕人的侍候、他們的服飾、王的酒政和王在耶和華的殿獻上的燔祭，就驚奇得不知所措。於是她對王說：“我在本國聽見有關你的事和你的智慧，原來都是真的；以前我並不相信那些話，等到我來了，親眼看見，才知道人告訴我的還不到一半；你的智慧和財富，超過我所聽聞的。屬你的人是有福的，你的這些臣僕是有福的，他們常常侍立在你面前，聆聽你的智慧。耶和華你的神是應當稱頌的！他喜悅你，使你坐在以色列的王位上；因為耶和華永遠喜愛以色列，所以立你作王，要你秉行公義。”於是示巴女王把約四千公斤金子、大批香料和寶石送給王；以後奉來的香料再也沒有像示巴女王送給所羅門的那麼多。此外，從俄斐運金子來的希蘭船隊，又從俄斐運了大批檀香木和寶石來。王用檀香木為耶和華的殿和王宮做欄杆，又為歌唱的做琴瑟。以後再也沒有這樣的檀香木運來，也沒有人看見過，直到今日。所羅門王照著示巴女王所願所求的一切賜給她，另外又厚厚地餽贈她。於是女王和她的臣僕都返回本國去了。

聖靈仿佛鴿子，有形體地降在他身上；有聲音從天上來，說：“你是我的愛子，我喜悅你。”

因為有一個嬰孩為我們而生，有一個兒子賜給我們；政權必擔在他的肩頭上；他的名必稱為“奇妙的策士、全能的神、永恆的父、和平的君”。他的政權與平安必無窮無盡地增加，他在大衛的寶座上治理他的國，以公平和公義使國堅立穩固，從現在直到永遠。萬軍之耶和華的熱心必成全這事。

因著信，挪亞在還沒有看見的事上，得了神的警告，就動了敬畏的心，做了一艘方舟，使他全家得救。藉著這信心，他就定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那因信而來的義。

耶和華對我說：“背道的以色列，比詭詐的猶大還顯得正義。

那本來沒有受割禮卻遵守律法的人，就要審判你這有儀文和割禮而犯律法的人。

為攻擊你而製成的武器，都沒有效用；在審判的時候興起來與你爭辯的舌頭，你都必定它為有罪。這是耶和華眾僕人的產業，他們的義是從我而得；這是耶和華說的。

這愛子是那看不見的神的形象，是首先的，在一切被造的之上。因為天上地上的萬有：看得見的和看不見的，無論是坐王位的，或是作主的，或是執政的，或是掌權的，都是本著他造的；萬有都是藉著他，又是為著他而造的。他在萬有之先；萬有也一同靠著他而存在。他是身體的頭，這身體就是教會。他是元始，是死人中首先復生的，好讓他在凡事上居首位；因為神樂意使所有的豐盛都住在愛子裡面，

有聲音從雲彩裡出來，說：“這是我的兒子，我所揀選的（“這是我的兒子，我所揀選的”有些抄本作“這是我的愛子”），你們要聽從他！”
