But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house[ divided] against a house falleth.

耶穌燭其意、謂之曰；『國而分裂、其國必墟。屋上加屋、其屋必圮。

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them:“ Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall.

Jesus knew what they were thinking. So he said to them,“ Any kingdom that fights against itself will be destroyed. A family that is divided against itself will fall.

But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them,“ Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls.

He knew their thoughts, so he said,“ Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A family splintered by feuding will fall apart.

Knowing their thoughts, he told them,“ Every kingdom divided against itself is headed for destruction, and a house divided against itself falls.

And he called them[ unto him], and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city,[ and] kingdom against kingdom.And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast[ them] out? therefore they shall be your judges.But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand.And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.

And when all Israel[ saw] that the king would not hearken unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? and[ we have] none inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to your tents, O Israel:[ and] now, David, see to thine own house. So all Israel went to their tents.But[ as for] the children of Israel that dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.Then king Rehoboam sent Hadoram that[ was] over the tribute; and the children of Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. But king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to[ his] chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.And Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.

And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh:[ and] they together[ shall be] against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand[ is] stretched out still.

And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
