有攜一聾瘖者至、求耶穌撫之。耶穌引之出人叢、至僻處、以指探其耳、唾而按其舌、仰天嘆曰：『伊咈大、』譯言、『啟。』耳應聲而啟、舌結亦解、發音清晰。耶穌戒勿告人、詎愈戒而愈揚。眾皆不勝嘆異曰、『是其所為、靡有不善；直使聾者聰、而瘖者言矣。』
