He said to another person,“ Come, follow me.” The man agreed, but he said,“ Lord, first let me return home and bury my father.”But Jesus told him,“ Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead! Your duty is to go and preach about the Kingdom of God.”

Then food was served. But Abraham’s servant said,“ I don’t want to eat until I have told you why I have come.”“ All right,” Laban said,“ tell us.”

David asked Ahimelech,“ Do you have a spear or sword? The king’s business was so urgent that I didn’t even have time to grab a weapon!”

Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you.

But he said,“ Don’t delay me. The Lord has made my mission successful; now send me back so I can return to my master.”

He told them to take nothing for their journey except a walking stick— no food, no traveler’s bag, no money.He allowed them to wear sandals but not to take a change of clothes.“ Wherever you go,” he said,“ stay in the same house until you leave town.But if any place refuses to welcome you or listen to you, shake its dust from your feet as you leave to show that you have abandoned those people to their fate.”

So she saddled the donkey and said to the servant,“ Hurry! Don’t slow down unless I tell you to.”
