Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your mind and with all your strength.’( Deuteronomy 6:4, 5)And here is the second one.‘ Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’( Leviticus 19:18) There is no commandment more important than these.”

Jesus replied,“‘ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your mind.’( Deuteronomy 6:5)This is the first and most important commandment.And the second is like it.‘ Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’( Leviticus 19:18)Everything that is written in the Law and the Prophets is based on these two commandments.”

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your strength.

Here are some commandments to think about.“ Do not commit adultery.”“ Do not commit murder.”“ Do not steal.”“ Do not want what belongs to others.”( Exodus 20:13–15, 17; Deuteronomy 5:17–19, 21) These and all other commands are included in one command. Here’s what it is.“ Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”( Leviticus 19:18)

The Lord your God will keep you from being stubborn. He’ll do the same thing for your children and their children. Then you will love him with all your heart and with all your soul. And you will live.

The royal law is found in Scripture. It says,“ Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”( Leviticus 19:18) If you really keep this law, you are doing what is right.

To love God with all your heart and mind and strength is very important. So is loving your neighbor as you love yourself. These things are more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”Jesus saw that the man had answered wisely. He said to him,“ You are not far from God’s kingdom.” From then on, no one dared to ask Jesus any more questions.

“‘ Do not try to get even. Do not hold anything against any of your people. Instead, love your neighbor as you love yourself. I am the Lord.

And now, Israel, what is the Lord your God asking you to do? Honor him. Live exactly as he wants you to live. Love him. Serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Dear children, don’t just talk about love. Put your love into action. Then it will truly be love.

Honor your father and mother.’( Exodus 20:12–16; Deuteronomy 5:16–20) And‘ love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ ”( Leviticus 19:18)

This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds. I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God. And they will be my people.

My brothers and sisters, you were chosen to be free. But don’t use your freedom as an excuse to live under the power of sin. Instead, serve one another in love.
