當時主感於聖神、不勝忻愉曰：『偉哉聖父！天地之主！爾令世之智者昧於妙道、而獨啟迪赤子之心。父乎、是誠爾之美意。

那时候，耶稣受了圣灵的感动就快乐，说：“父啊，天地的主，我赞美你，因为你把这些事向有智慧的和有学问的人隐藏起来，而向小孩子们显明出来。是的，父啊！因为这正是你的美意。”

是時也、耶穌感於聖神而喜曰、父乎、天地主也、我讚爾、以此事於智者達者則隱之、於赤子則顯之、父乎、然也、此乃爾所悅者也、

當時、耶穌心喜曰、父乎、天地主也、我讚爾、以此道隱於智者才者、而顯之於赤子、誠哉、父之善意、固如是也、

At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.

At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said,“ O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.

At that time he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, because this was your good pleasure.

At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said,“ I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for doing so was well pleasing in Your sight.

In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said,“ I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.

In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes: yea, Father; for so it was well- pleasing in thy sight.

In that same hour He rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said,“ I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and the learned and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, because this was Your good pleasure.

In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

On that same occasion Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your gracious will.

In that same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said,“ I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well- pleasing in your sight.”

若謂吾人之福音為晦澀而難明者、其惟於沉淪之徒為然歟！

雖然、吾人所傳之道、在完善之人視之、乃真智慧也；非斯世之智慧、亦非世上王公大人終歸烏有者之智慧。吾人所傳者、乃玄妙幽微之智慧、即天主在有世以前留為吾人誇耀之智慧也。此天主之智慧、世之王公未知識也；苟其識之、亦不至將光榮之主釘於十字架矣。

爾時耶穌又言曰：『頌揚聖父、天地真主！蓋爾隱此道於智巧之人、而啟之於赤子；父之妙旨、不亦善乎。吾父已將一切付諸於我矣。知子惟父、知父惟子、及蒙子啟牖之人。

吾誠語爾、凡不以赤子之心承天主國者、莫得而進焉。』

耶穌曰：『福哉若納子西門：蓋以此啟汝者、非屬血氣肉情；在天吾父、實牖爾衷。

耶穌曰：『天國之蘊奧、賜爾知之、不賜若輩；誠以有者益之、使沛然充溢、而無者並奪其所有。若輩視而不見、聽而不聞、冥頑不悟、故以譬喻訓之。意灑雅之預言、實應於若輩之身矣。其言曰：斯民之心、已成頑梗；厥耳重聽、厥目自閉、若恐其目之有見、耳之有聞、心之有悟、幡然回頭、而獲救於我也。」然福哉爾目、以有見故。福哉爾耳、以有聞故。

蓋天主秉其仁慈、隨其意之所悅預定吾人緣耶穌基督、得為天主之眾嗣、

蓋吾人之得因基督而倖成天主之眾嗣者、實由淵然深識、匠心獨運之天主所預定

使其團結一致於愛德之中、寖達和融瑩徹、沛然不疑之地、俾能切身體認天主之妙道而已矣。妙道無他、基督是已。基督者、一切智慧之淵府也。

主與虔者親。啟迪道中趣。

既獲、則忻然肩之而歸、

乃謂耶穌曰：『爾不聞若輩所言乎？』耶穌答曰：『聞也；然爾豈未讀「卻從赤子乳香口、引出千秋美譽芳。」』

是宜痛絕一切惡意、欺詐、虛偽忮心、譖謗、當如新生之嬰、一心愛慕純粹乳汁、日漸月漬、涵養心靈、以邀救恩。

我主在天上。聖名天下揚。諸天現光彩。妙手運陰陽。

蓋感召爾等得與其聖子耶穌基督神交心契者、乃誠實無妄之天主也。第有一事、頗欲以吾主耶穌基督之名義、奉勸兄弟；惟望爾等精誠團結、眾口同辭兄弟之間不可有絲毫分裂；務須一心一德、和衷共濟。頃革來氏之家人來為予言、兄弟中頗有意氣之爭。試舉一例、爾中或云『我乃葆樂之人、』或云『我乃亞波羅之人、』或云『我乃基法之人、』或云『我乃基督之人。』夫基督安可分裂乎？為爾等殉身十字架上者、豈葆樂乎？抑爾等係奉葆樂之名而受洗乎？予私心謝主、自吉士布及迦猶而外、未曾為爾中之任何人付洗；庶可杜絕以我之名受洗之謬說。尚有斯德法納一家、亦係予所付洗者、餘則不復記憶矣。蓋予所受於基督之使命、非為付洗、乃為傳道。而巧言妙語、未嘗用之、誠恐基督之十字架轉失效能。夫聖架之道、在喪心病狂不可救藥者視之、愚莫甚焉；而在沾溉救恩之吾人視之、則天主之德能也。經不云乎、『吾將毀智者之智、滅巧者之巧。』而今哲人安在哉？經師安在哉？世之辯士又安在哉？此非天主已使世俗之智化為下愚乎？蓋按天主之上智、世俗之智、既不足以認識天主、故天主甘用若愚之道以救信眾。猶太人所望者靈驗也希臘人所求者智慧也；而吾人所傳揚者、乃一被釘於十字架之基督耳。此於猶太人為躓石、於異邦人為愚妄；而於蒙召之人、無論其國籍之為猶太或希臘、則為天主之德能與神慧也。蓋天主之愚、猶智於世人之智；而天主之柔、猶剛於世人之剛耳。願吾兄弟一思其聖召之所在。爾中鮮有世俗之所謂哲人、亦鮮有強有力者、與出身於貴族之人、雖然、世俗所視為愚者、天主則簡拔之、以愧眾哲；世俗所視為弱者、天主則簡拔之、以勝強有力者；世俗所認為卑卑不足道而視若無物者、天主則簡拔之、以毀滅有名無實之徒；庶幾血肉之身、無敢自衒自誇於天主之前。

既得、則召其鄰友曰：「失銀已獲、胥其與我同樂。」

父乎！願父所賜於予之人、皆得詣予所在、而親睹父所賜予之榮、蓋自創世之前、父已愛予矣。公義之父乎！世不識父、予則識父、而斯輩亦識父之遣予也。父之聖名、予已示之、今後復將示之、使父之所以愛予之愛、得存留於彼等、而予亦得恆寓於彼等焉。』

率土之濱。莫匪爾屬。普天之下。莫匪爾僕。

眾乃移石。耶穌仰視曰：『感荷聖父垂聽、予固知予有所求、父莫不應也。

幸毋自欺！苟爾中有自矜其世俗之智巧者、吾願其人棄其智巧而反於愚拙、是則真智巧矣。蓋世之所謂智巧、自天主視之、愚拙莫甚焉。經不云乎：『天主令智者自墮其巧計之中。』又曰：『天主深知智者之千思萬慮、皆屬虛空。』
