The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

To open their eyes,[ and] to turn[ them] from darkness to light, and[ from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

Good and upright[ is] the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.All the paths of the LORD[ are] mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

And the way of peace have they not known:

Neither said they, Where[ is] the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where[ is] the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk[ therein].

The way of peace they know not; and[ there is] no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.

And I will bring the blind by a way[ that] they knew not; I will lead them in paths[ that] they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

[ There is] no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.

[ That] was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Her ways[ are] ways of pleasantness, and all her paths[ are] peace.

A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou[ art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I[ am] the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way[ that] thou shouldest go.

Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.

Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed[ each other].Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.Yea, the LORD shall give[ that which is] good; and our land shall yield her increase.Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set[ us] in the way of his steps.
