to show mercy to our ancestors and to remember his holy covenant,

He has been kind to our people of long ago. He has remembered his holy covenant.

He has done this to show mercy to our ancestors, and to remember his holy covenant–

For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear an oath by no one greater, He swore by Himself,saying,“ indeed I will greatly bless you and I will greatly multiply you.”And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.For people swear an oath by one greater than themselves, and with them an oath serving as confirmation is an end of every dispute.In the same way God, desiring even more to demonstrate to the heirs of the promise the fact that His purpose is unchangeable, confirmed it with an oath,so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to hold firmly to the hope set before us.

You will give truth to Jacob And favor to Abraham, Which You swore to our forefathers From the days of old.

then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and I will remember also My covenant with Isaac, and My covenant with Abraham as well, and I will remember the land.

And He remembered His covenant for their sake, And relented according to the greatness of His mercy.

“ Nevertheless, I will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.

I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven, and will give your descendants all these lands; and by your descendants all the nations of the earth shall be blessed,

He has given help to His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy,Just as He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and his descendants forever.”

It is you who are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God ordained with your fathers, saying to Abraham,‘ And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’God raised up His Servant for you first, and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.”

Your descendants will also be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, and to the north and to the south; and in you and in your descendants shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

In relation to the gospel they are enemies on your account, but in relation to God’s choice they are beloved on account of the fathers;

He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations,The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac.Then He confirmed it to Jacob as a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant,

Brothers and sisters, I speak in terms of human relations: even though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been ratified, no one sets it aside or adds conditions to it.Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say,“ And to seeds,” as one would in referring to many, but rather as in referring to one,“ And to your seed,” that is, Christ.What I am saying is this: the Law, which came 430 years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise.

“ Then I passed by you and saw you, and behold, you were at the time for love; so I spread My garment over you and covered your nakedness. I also swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you so that you became Mine,” declares the Lord God.

He has given food to those who fear Him; He will remember His covenant forever.

And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

He has remembered His graciousness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

“ As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, And you will be the father of a multitude of nations.No longer shall you be named Abram, But your name shall be Abraham; For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.And I will give to you and to your descendants after you the land where you live as a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”God said further to Abraham,“ Now as for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.

And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
