He hath put down princes from their thrones, And hath exalted them of low degree.

王侯遭傾覆、卑賤升高位；

He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.

he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate;

He poureth contempt upon princes, And causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.Yet setteth he the needy on high from affliction, And maketh him families like a flock.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall exalt you.

So that he setteth up on high those that are low, And those that mourn are exalted to safety.He frustrateth the devices of the crafty, So that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.He taketh the wise in their own craftiness; And the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.

I say unto you, This man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; but he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

That humbleth himself to behold The things that are in heaven and in the earth?He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, And lifteth up the needy from the dunghill;That he may set him with princes, Even with the princes of his people.

Jehovah killeth, and maketh alive: He bringeth down to Sheol, and bringeth up.Jehovah maketh poor, and maketh rich: He bringeth low, he also lifteth up.He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, He lifteth up the needy from the dunghill, To make them sit with princes, And inherit the throne of glory: For the pillars of the earth are Jehovah’s, And he hath set the world upon them.

For out of prison he came forth to be king; yea, even in his kingdom he was born poor.

He breaketh in pieces mighty men in ways past finding out, And setteth others in their stead.Therefore he taketh knowledge of their works; And he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.He striketh them as wicked men In the open sight of others;Because they turned aside from following him, And would not have regard in any of his ways:So that they caused the cry of the poor to come unto him, And he heard the cry of the afflicted.

But let the brother of low degree glory in his high estate:and the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended in him.

The bows of the mighty men are broken; And they that stumbled are girded with strength.
