谁能使洁净出于污秽呢？无人有此本事。

这样在神面前，人怎能称为义呢？妇人所生的，怎能算为洁净呢？

我们从前也都和他们在一起，放纵肉体的私欲，随着肉体和心意所喜好的去行；我们与别人一样，生来都是可怒的儿女。

何况那可憎又腐败，喝罪孽如同喝水的世人呢？

看哪，我是在罪孽里生的；我母亲在罪中怀了我。

受膏者说：“我要宣告耶和华的谕旨：耶和华对我说：‘你是我的儿子，我今日生了你。

船上的人都拜他，说：“你真是神的儿子。”

但把这些事记下来，是要你们信耶稣是基督，是神的儿子，并且使你们信了，可以因他的名得生命。

神的儿子（有些抄本无“神的儿子”一句）耶稣基督福音的开始。

这样的一位大祭司，对我们本是合适的。他是圣洁、没有邪恶、没有玷污、从罪人中分别出来、高过众天的。他不必像那些大祭司，天天先为自己的罪献祭，然后为人民的罪献祭；因为他献上了自己，就把这事一次而永远的成全了。律法所立的大祭司，都是软弱的人；可是在律法以后，用誓言所立的儿子，却是成为完全直到永远的。

试探者前来对他说：“你若是神的儿子，就吩咐这些石头变成食物吧！”
