Zechariah said to the angel,“ How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is old as well.”

Zechariah asked the angel,“ How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.”

And Zacharias said to the angel,“ How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

“ How can I know this?” Zechariah asked the angel.“ For I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”

Zacharias said to the angel,“ How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”

Then Abraham bowed down with his face to the ground and laughed as he said to himself,“ Can a son be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Can Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?”

Mary said to the angel,“ How will this be, since I have not had sexual relations with a man?”

But Abram said,“ O sovereign LORD, by what can I know that I am to possess it?”

Gideon said to God,“ If you really intend to use me to deliver Israel, as you promised, then give me a sign as proof.Look, I am putting a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece, and the ground around it is dry, then I will be sure that you will use me to deliver Israel, as you promised.”The LORD did as he asked. When he got up the next morning, he squeezed the fleece, and enough dew dripped from it to fill a bowl.Gideon said to God,“ Please do not get angry at me, when I ask for just one more sign. Please allow me one more test with the fleece. This time make only the fleece dry, while the ground around it is covered with dew.”That night God did as he asked. Only the fleece was dry and the ground around it was covered with dew.

Moses said,“ The people around me are 600,000 on foot; but you say,‘ I will give them meat, that they may eat for a whole month.’Would they have enough if the flocks and herds were slaughtered for them? If all the fish of the sea were caught for them, would they have enough?”And the LORD said to Moses,“ Is the LORD’s hand shortened? Now you will see whether my word to you will come true or not!”

So Sarah laughed to herself, thinking,“ After I am worn out will I have pleasure, especially when my husband is old too?”

But they did not have a child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both very old.

Without being weak in faith, he considered his own body as dead( because he was about one hundred years old) and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

An officer who was the king’s right-hand man responded to the prophet,“ Look, even if the LORD made it rain by opening holes in the sky, could this happen so soon?” Elisha said,“ Look, you will see it happen with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of the food!”

Hezekiah said,“ What is the confirming sign that I will go up to the LORD’s temple?”
