以伊理藹之風度神力為主前驅、必使為父者之心歸向兒女、而頑強之子服膺長者之智、為主作育心悅誠服之新民。』

爾願承之、此即當來之以利亞也、

惟汝小子、將稱為至上者之先知、因爾行於主前、以備其路、

勿效厥祖、斯代頑梗悖逆、其心不正、其神不堅於上帝兮、

曰、然則爾為以利亞乎、曰非也、爾為彼先知乎、曰否、曰、爾為誰、俾我可復遣我者、爾自謂何如也、曰我乃呼於野者之聲云、直主之路、如先知以賽亞所言也、其人乃法利賽人所遣、復問之曰、爾非基督、非以利亞、非彼先知、胡為施洗耶、約翰曰、我以水施洗耳、有立於爾中、爾弗識者、即後我而來、我解其履帶、亦弗堪焉、斯事行於約但外伯大尼地、即約翰施洗處也、○翌日、約翰見耶穌來、則曰、觀上帝之羔、乃負世之罪者、此即我所言、後我來者乃為我先、以其先我而在也、

爾曹證之、我曾言我非基督、乃奉遣於其前耳、

曰、以利亞果至、興復諸事、我語汝、以利亞已至、而人不之識、任意待之、人子亦將受其害、

我又見諸座、居其上者、得權以鞫人、又見因耶穌之證、及上帝之道、而被斬者之靈、與未拜獸及其像、未受其印誌於額於手者、彼皆得生、與基督共王千年、

乃問之曰、士子言以利亞必先至、何歟、耶穌曰、以利亞果先至、興復諸事、但記云、人子必經諸苦、為人所忽、何耶、我語汝、以利亞已至、而人任意待之、如所記者焉、○

我列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列之上帝、耶和華歟、願使爾名恆存此念、堅心於爾、

且謝天父、使我儕堪與諸聖徒同得光明之業、

寅畏耶和華、為智慧之肇始、守其誡命者為明哲、耶和華之聲譽永存兮、

諸物既將如是消滅、則爾之為人、當如何清潔虔敬哉、企慕上帝之日至、諸天因而焚毀、有體質者悉以烈火銷鎔之、我儕依其所許、希望新天新地、義寓其中焉、○愛友乎、爾既望此、則宜殷勤、俾獲平康、無玷無疵於其前、

中心昏謬者得聰慧、怨尤者受教誨焉、

眾出受洗、約翰謂之曰、蝮類乎、誰示爾避將來之怒乎、故當結果、以副改悔、勿自謂我有亞伯拉罕為父也、我語汝、上帝能由此石、興起亞伯拉罕之子孫焉、今斧置樹根、凡不結善果者、則斫之、委於火、眾問曰、然則我當何為、曰、有二衣者、則分與無者、有食者亦然、稅吏亦來受洗、問曰、夫子、我當何為、曰、定賦之外毋索、有軍士問曰、我當何為、曰、毋強暴、毋誣詐、惟安爾餉、○

惟爾乃蒙選之族、王室之祭司、維聖之國、特設之民、俾彰召爾出幽暗入奇光者之德、

以色列歟、我必如是行於爾、以色列歟、職是之故、爾宜自備、以迎爾之上帝、

對以不往、後悔而往、謂其仲子亦如之、對曰、主諾、既而不往、二者孰遵父旨乎、曰、長子、耶穌曰、我誠語汝、稅吏娼妓、先爾入上帝國矣、蓋約翰由義路就爾、爾不之信、而稅吏娼妓信之、且爾見此、後仍不悔以信也、○

故耶和華云、爾所登之牀、不得再下、必死矣、以利亞遂往、使者返、王曰、爾返何為、曰、有人迎而告我曰、返見遣爾之王曰、耶和華云、以色列中豈無上帝、乃遣人詢以革倫神巴力西卜乎、故爾所登之牀、不得再下、必死矣、

亞哈謂以利亞曰、我敵、爾遇我乎、曰、我遇爾矣、因爾自鬻、行耶和華所惡、

人若棄此而潔己、則為貴用之器、清潔而適主用、備諸善工、

將使以色列多人、轉而歸主、即其上帝也、

我見之、而證其為上帝子也、○

旅於基列之提斯比人以利亞、告亞哈曰、我指所事維生之耶和華、以色列之上帝而誓、此數年間、非我有言、則雨露不降、

上帝為民所備、希西家與民眾悅之、成事甚速、

約翰見法利賽撒都該人多就其洗、謂之曰、蝮類乎、誰示爾避將來之怒乎、故當結果、以副改悔、勿自謂、我有亞伯拉罕為父也、我語汝、上帝能由此石興起亞伯拉罕之子孫焉、今斧置樹根、凡不結善果者、則斫之、委於火、夫我洗爾以水、俾爾改悔、但後我來者、尤勝於我、即攜其履、我亦弗堪、彼將洗爾以聖神及火焉、其手執箕、簸淨厥場、斂麥入倉、而燒糠以不滅之火、○

且欲示其豐富之榮於矜恤之器、備以獲榮者、

其生也、非由血氣、非由情欲、非由人意、乃由上帝也、

蓋約翰曾謂之曰、納此婦非宜也、

故我即遣人詣爾、爾來善矣、今我儕咸在上帝前、以聽主凡所命爾者、○

耶和華歟、謙卑者之祈、爾已聞之、必堅厥志、傾耳聽之、

豈不知不義者不得承上帝國乎、毋受惑、凡淫亂、拜像、行姦、為孌童、比頑童、竊盜、貪婪、沉湎、詬詈、苛索者、皆不得承上帝國也、爾中素有如是者、惟以主耶穌基督名、及我上帝之神、已洗滌成聖而見義焉、○

對曰、困苦以色列者、非我也、乃爾及爾父家、緣爾離棄耶和華之誡命、從諸巴力、

夫約翰身衣駝毛、腰束皮帶、食則蝗蟲野蜜、

謂之曰、耶和華云、以色列中豈無上帝、可以諮諏、乃遣使詢以革倫神巴力西卜乎、故爾所登之牀、不得再下、必死矣、

撒母耳曰、當集以色列眾於米斯巴、我將為爾祈禱耶和華、
