“‘ A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.

“‘ A tenth of everything the land produces belongs to the Lord. That includes grain from the soil and fruit from the trees. It is holy. It is set apart for him.

“ Every tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is the Lord’s; it is holy to the Lord.

“ One tenth of the produce of the land, whether grain from the fields or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord and must be set apart to him as holy.

“ Every tenth of the land’s produce, grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD.

‘ Now all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s; it is holy to the Lord.

至高神是當受頌讚的！他把你的敵人交在你的手中。」亞伯蘭就把所有的十分之一獻給他。

「你們法利賽人有禍了！因為你們奉獻薄荷、芸香和各種蔬菜的十分之一，卻廢棄了公義和屬神的愛。這些事是你們應該做的，至於前者也不可忽略。

「經文士和法利賽人哪，你們這些偽善的人有禍了！因為你們奉獻薄荷、蒔蘿、香芹的十分之一，卻放棄了律法上更重要的：就是公義、憐憫、信實。這些才是你們應該做的，至於前者也不可放棄。

我一週禁食兩次，並奉獻我所有收入的十分之一。』

雖然利未子孫中那些領受祭司職務的，從亞伯拉罕的後裔中出來，他們還是奉命按照律法向子民，就是自己的同胞，收取十分之一。可是，不出於利未世系的那一位，卻從亞伯拉罕收取了十分之一，並且祝福了那擁有各樣應許的亞伯拉罕。原來，位分小的從位分大的接受祝福，是毫無爭議的事。在這裡，收取十分之一的人們固然都會死去；但在那裡，他卻被見證說是永生的。甚至從某種意義上可以說：連那收取十分之一的利未，也藉著亞伯拉罕交納了十分之一，

難道人會搶奪神嗎？你們卻搶奪我！你們竟然問：『我們是怎麼搶奪你的呢？』你們是在當納的十分之一和當獻的供物上搶奪我的。你們受嚴厲的詛咒，是因為你們在搶奪我，你們全國的人都在搶奪我。」萬軍之耶和華說：「你們要把當納的十分之一全都帶進庫房，好使我的家中有糧食；藉此試驗我是否會為你們打開天上的窗戶，把祝福傾倒在你們身上，直到你們充足滿溢。」
