“在你们的地收割庄稼，不可割尽田角，也不可拾取所遗落的；要留给穷人和寄居的。我是耶和华你们的神。”

“‘ When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you. I am the Lord your God.’”

“‘ Suppose you are gathering your crops. Then do not harvest all the way to the edges of your field. And do not pick up the grain you missed. Leave some for the poor people and the outsiders who live among you. I am the Lord your God.’ ”

“ And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, nor shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the Lord your God.”

爾上帝耶和華特簡之室、為人籲名之所、爾與子女僕婢、及主爾家之利未人、暨賓旅孤寡、俱必欣喜懽忭、於爾上帝耶和華前。昔在埃及、爾為人役、當憶勿忘、宜守此法度。○穀場酒醡之所產、既已斂藏、歷至七日、當守搆廬節、爾與子女僕婢、及主爾家之利未人、賓旅孤寡、俱必欣喜懽忭、

起以拾遺、波士命其少者曰、容之在禾束中拾穗、毋叱之。爾手所握之禾、少抽數莖、故遺於地、容拾毋叱。路得在田拾遺、至於薄暮、後撲所拾、得麰麥六斗。入邑以所拾示姑、亦以果腹所餘者、出而進於姑。姑問曰、爾今日拾遺何處、工作何方、願顧汝者得福祉。媳示厥姑曰、今日我工作於波士田。拿阿米曰、彼施恩於存者、亦不遺亡者、願耶和華錫嘏焉。又曰、彼與我為戚屬、得贖我產者、此其一也。摩押婦路得曰、彼使我恆從其少者、迨及刈盡。拿阿米曰、我女與、寧從其眾女、勿往他田。於是路得從波士眾女拾遺、迨麰麥及小麥刈盡、仍與姑居。

遂往於田、從穫者後、而拾所遺、不意至以利米力戚屬波士田。波士自伯利恆至、謂穫者曰、願耶和華祐爾。對曰、願耶和華錫嘏於爾。波士問穫者之長曰、此誰氏女乎。穫者之長曰、此摩押女、與拿阿米自摩押偕來者。其請我相容、從穫者後、在禾束間、以拾所遺、自朝迄今在田、茲暫處於廬。

故吾以為當請兄弟先至爾處、將前所言之金、預備以待、以明樂助、非出勉強、余嘗曰、少稼少穡、多稼多穡、各隨其願、毋憂慮、毋勉強、上帝所愛者、樂助也。上帝能加恩與爾、令爾恆足、萬善備於己、經云彼散財矣、彼濟貧矣、義乃永存、主固加種與播者、賜糧與食者、今願以所播之種、加多與爾、為義之效、增益助爾、令爾得以博施、我聚而散之、俾受之者謝上帝、是施濟之職、不第補聖徒不足、益令人徧謝上帝、

有散財而增富厚、有惜財而致貧乏、博施濟眾、必有贏餘、潤澤人者、必受潤澤、

饑者食之、貧者寓之、裸者衣之、戚屬遭難、毋掩面而不睹。則爾之光明、必如平旦、爾之沉痾、一朝頓失、爾之仁義、護爾於前、我之榮光、衛爾於後。

貧者所欲我施之、嫠者所望我遂之。簞食之微、不敢自食、亦必與孤子共。我自幼時、撫人之孤、助人之嫠。我見流民無衣、貧者無服、衣以羊毛、俾暖其體、而祝謝我、雖在公庭、左右環立、我未嘗鞭扑孤子。

眷顧貧乏者福兮、彼遭患難、耶和華救之兮、保護其生、亨通斯土、勿使敵人得遂其謀兮、雖病卧床笫、耶和華扶翼之、病劇之時、治其衾裯兮、

如爾大發仁心、賑饑濟困、則爾之暗、可變為光、赫然若日方中。

彼散財兮、彼濟貧兮、其義永存、其角崢嶸兮、

爾自以為吾取盤中之物、以分人、則無不潔矣、
