第五年，你們就可以吃樹上的果子，使樹給你們結出更多的果子。我是耶和華－你們的神。

But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit. In this way your harvest will be increased. I am the Lord your God.

你們盼望多得，看哪，所得的卻少；你們收到家中，我就吹去。這是為甚麼呢？因為我的殿荒涼，你們各人卻只為自己的房屋奔走。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。所以，因你們的緣故，天不降甘露，地也不出土產。我命令乾旱臨到土地、山岡、五穀、新酒、新油和地上的出產，也臨到人和牲畜，以及一切人手勞碌得來的。」

「你們若遵行我的律例，謹守我的誡命，實行它們，我必按時降雨給你們，使地長出農作物，田野的樹結出果實。

當將你的糧食撒在水面上，因為日子久了，你必能得着它。將你所擁有的分給七人，或八人，因為你不知道會有甚麼災禍臨到地上。

「這殿荒涼，你們自己還住天花板的房屋嗎？現在，萬軍之耶和華如此說，你們要省察自己的行為。你們撒的種多，收的卻少；你們吃，卻不得飽；喝，卻不得足；穿衣服，卻不得暖；領工錢的，領了工錢卻裝入有破洞的袋中。

你們心裏要想一想，從今日起，就是從這九月二十四日起，從立耶和華殿根基的日子起，你們心裏想一想：倉裏還有穀種嗎？葡萄樹、無花果樹、石榴樹、橄欖樹雖沒有結果子，從今日起，我必賜福。」

人豈可搶奪神呢？你們竟搶奪我！你們卻說：『我們在何事上搶奪你呢？』其實就是在你們當納的十分之一奉獻和當獻的供物上。因你們全國上下都搶奪我的供物，詛咒就臨到你們身上。你們要將當納的十分之一全然送入倉庫，使我家有糧，以此試試我，是否為你們敞開天上的窗戶，傾福與你們，甚至無處可容。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。

你要以財物和一切初熟的土產尊崇耶和華，這樣，你的倉庫必充滿有餘，你的酒池有新酒盈溢。
