第五年，你們可以吃樹上的果子。你們這樣做，果樹會為你們結出更多果子。我是你們的上帝耶和華。

But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit. In this way your harvest will be increased. I am the Lord your God.

But in the fifth year you can eat the fruit. Then you will gather more and more fruit. I am the Lord your God.

你們盼望豐收，結果收的很少；你們把收成帶回家，我卻把它們吹走。這是什麼緣故？萬軍之耶和華告訴你們，『因為你們都忙於建自家的房子，任由我的殿一片廢墟。所以，天不降雨露，地無出產。我讓旱災臨到大地、群山、五穀、葡萄、橄欖等地裡的出產以及人畜，使你們一切的勞碌付諸東流。』」

如果你們遵行我的律例，持守我的誡命，我就按時降雨給你們，使土地長出莊稼、果樹結出果實。

當慷慨施捨，因為日後必有收穫。當把你的資財分給多人，因為你不知道日後會有什麼災難臨到世上。

「這殿還是一片廢墟，你們卻住在華麗的房子裡。萬軍之耶和華說，你們要認真反省自己的行為。你們種多收少，吃不飽，喝不足，穿不暖，掙來的工錢卻放在漏口袋中。」

九月二十四日是我的殿奠定根基的日子。你們要思想這個日子，要認真思想。雖然糧倉裡沒有種子，葡萄樹、無花果樹、石榴樹和橄欖樹沒結果子，但從今以後，我要賜福給你們。』」

人怎可搶奪上帝的東西呢？可是你們不但搶奪我的東西，還說，『我們在何事上搶過你的東西呢？』「你們在十分之一的奉獻和其他供物上搶奪我的東西。舉國上下都是如此，所以你們必受咒詛。」萬軍之耶和華說：「你們要把當納的十分之一全部送到我的倉庫，使我的殿中有糧。你們這樣試試，看我會不會為你們打開天上的窗戶，把祝福傾倒給你們，直到無處可容。」

你要用自己的財富和一切初熟的物產來尊崇耶和華，祂必使你五穀滿倉，榨酒池溢出新釀。
