不可咒罵聾子，也不可將絆腳物放在瞎子面前；要敬畏你的上帝：我是永恆主。

“‘ Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the Lord.

“‘ Do not ask for bad things to happen to deaf people. Do not put anything in front of blind people that will make them trip. Instead, have respect for me. I am the Lord your God.

『「使瞎子在路上走錯的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」

『在白頭髮的人面前你要站起來；要尊敬老人，要敬畏你的上帝：我是永恆主。

你們不可彼此欺負；要敬畏你的上帝；因為我永恆主是你們的上帝。

其實食物並不能將我們舉薦與上帝：我們若不喫，無所虧損，喫也無所增益。不過要謹慎，免得你們這權利、竟成了軟弱人的碰腳物。倘若有人見你這「有知識的」在偶像廟裏坐席，他的良知若是軟弱，豈不是要「被建立起來！」去喫祭偶像之物麼？那軟弱的人、基督為他死的那弟兄、也就會因你的「知識」而失喪了！你們這樣犯罪害了弟兄、擊傷了他們的良知、便是犯罪敵對着基督了。所以食物若叫我的弟兄絆跌，我就永遠絕不喫肉，免得使我的弟兄絆跌。

務要尊敬眾人；愛信主的弟兄姊妹；敬畏上帝；尊敬君王。

所以我們別再彼此論斷了；寧可決斷不給弟兄放下碰腳石或絆跌物。

不拘對猶太人、對希利尼人、或對上帝的教會、你們都要不碰倒人才對；

逼迫你們的，要給他們祝福：要祝福，別咒詛了；

但我以前的頭幾任巡撫都加重了人民的負擔，每日都向他們索取了糧食和酒、和四十舍客勒銀子；連他們的僮僕對人民也作威作福。但我呢，我因敬畏上帝、就不這樣行。

第三天，約瑟對他們說：『我是敬畏上帝的；你們照以下這樣行，就可以活着：

不過我有一點要責備你的，就是你有執守巴蘭教訓的人在你那裏。這巴蘭教導了巴勒將絆跌物丟在以色列人面前，叫他們喫祭偶像之物並行邪淫、變節去拜偶像。

你們既是呼求一位不以貌取人、乃按各人的行為施審判的父，就該存着敬畏的心、來度你們僑居世間的時光。
