“ You are to say to them:‘ Any man from the house of Israel or from the foreigners who reside in their midst, who offers a burnt offering or a sacrifice

“ Say to them:‘ Any Israelite or any foreigner residing among them who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice

“ Tell them,‘ Suppose someone offers a burnt offering or sacrifice. It does not matter whether they are an Israelite or an outsider.

“ And you shall say to them, Any one of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who sojourn among them, who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice

“ Give them this command as well. If any native Israelite or foreigner living among you offers a burnt offering or a sacrifice

“ Say to them: Anyone from the house of Israel or from the aliens who reside among them who offers a burnt offering or a sacrifice

“ Then you shall say to them,‘ Anyone from the house of Israel, or from the strangers who reside among them, who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice,

“ Also you shall say to them:‘ Whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice,

And thou shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that offereth a burnt- offering or sacrifice,

“ Say to them: Anyone from the house of Israel or from the foreigners who live among them who offers a burnt offering or a sacrifice

And thou shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man[ there be] of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which sojourn among you, that offereth a burnt offering or sacrifice,

“ You shall say to them,‘ Any man there is of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who live as foreigners among them, who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice,

“ Speak to the Israelites and tell them,‘ When someone among you presents an offering to the LORD, you must present your offering from the domesticated animals, either from the herd or from the flock.“‘ If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd he must present it as a flawless male; he must present it at the entrance of the Meeting Tent for its acceptance before the LORD.

Elijah then told all the people,“ Approach me.” So all the people approached him. He repaired the altar of the LORD that had been torn down.Then Elijah took twelve stones, corresponding to the number of tribes that descended from Jacob, to whom the LORD had said,“ Israel will be your new name.”With the stones he constructed an altar for the LORD. Around the altar he made a trench large enough to contain two seahs of seed.He arranged the wood, cut up the bull, and placed it on the wood.Then he said,“ Fill four water jars and pour the water on the offering and the wood.” When they had done so, he said,“ Do it again.” So they did it again. Then he said,“ Do it a third time.” So they did it a third time.The water flowed down all sides of the altar and filled the trench.When it was time for the evening offering, Elijah the prophet approached the altar and prayed:“ O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command.Answer me, O LORD, answer me, so these people will know that you, O LORD, are the true God and that you are winning back their allegiance.”Then fire from the LORD fell from the sky. It consumed the offering, the wood, the stones, and the dirt, and licked up the water in the trench.

So Samuel took a nursing lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the LORD. Samuel cried out to the LORD on Israel’s behalf, and the LORD answered him.

but has not brought it to the entrance of the Meeting Tent to present it as an offering to the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD. He has shed blood, so that man will be cut off from the midst of his people.

You will go down to Gilgal before me. I am going to join you there to offer burnt offerings and to make peace offerings. You should wait for seven days, until I arrive and tell you what to do.”

Then build an altar for the LORD your God on the top of this stronghold according to the proper pattern. Take the second bull and offer it as a burnt sacrifice on the wood from the Asherah pole that you cut down.”

“‘ Any man from the house of Israel or from the foreigners who reside in their midst who eats any blood, I will set my face against that person who eats the blood, and I will cut him off from the midst of his people,

Then David built an altar for the Lord there and offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings. And the Lord accepted prayers for the land, and the plague was removed from Israel.

For from the east to the west my name will be great among the nations. Incense and pure offerings will be offered in my name everywhere, for my name will be great among the nations,” says the LORD who rules over all.

Samuel replied,“ How can I go? Saul will hear about it and kill me!” But the LORD said,“ Take a heifer with you and say,‘ I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.’
