我在上帝、基督耶稣和蒙拣选的天使面前嘱咐你要遵守这些话，不可存成见，做事也不可偏心。不可急于给人行按手礼；也不可在别人的罪上有份，要保守自己纯洁。

他召祭司和利未人来，聚集在东边的广场，对他们说：“利未人哪，当听我说：现在你们要将自己分别为圣，又将耶和华—你们列祖上帝的殿分别为圣，从圣所中除去污秽之物。

我从前把你留在克里特，是要你将那没有办完的事都办妥，又照我所吩咐你的，在各城设立长老。若有无可指责的人，只作一个妇人的丈夫，儿女也是信主的，没有人告他们放荡，不受约束，就可以设立。监督既然是上帝的管家，必须无可指责、不自负、不暴躁、不酗酒、不好斗、不贪财；却要乐意接待外人、好善、克己、正直、圣洁、节制，坚守合乎教义的可靠之道，就能将健全的教导劝勉人，又能驳倒争辩的人。

你在许多见证人面前听见我所教导的，也要交托给那忠心而又能教导别人的人。

他在国中，在犹大一切坚固城设立审判官，各城都是如此。他对审判官说：“你们应当谨慎所做的事，因为你们审判不是为人，而是为耶和华。在审判的事上，他必与你们同在。现在，你们应当敬畏耶和华，谨慎办事，因为耶和华—我们的上帝没有不义，不看人的情面，也不受贿赂。”

因为《诗篇》上写着：“愿他的住处变为废墟，无人在内居住。”又说：“愿别人得他的职分。”所以，主耶稣在我们中间出入的整段时间，就是从约翰施洗起，直到主离开我们被接上升的日子为止，必须从那常与我们一起的人中，立一位与我们同作耶稣复活的见证。”

若你们认为事奉耶和华不好，今日就可以选择所要事奉的：是你们列祖在大河那边所事奉的神明，或是你们所住这地亚摩利人的神明呢？至于我和我家，我们必定事奉耶和华。”

我眼要看顾地上诚实可靠的人，使他们与我同住；行正直路的，他要侍候我。

他作王第三年，差遣官员便‧亥伊勒、俄巴底、撒迦利雅、拿坦业、米该亚往犹大各城去教导百姓。跟他们一同去的有利未人示玛雅、尼探雅、西巴第雅、亚撒黑、示米拉末、约拿单、亚多尼雅、多比雅、驼‧巴多尼雅；跟他们一同的又有以利沙玛和约兰二位祭司。他们在犹大教导，带着耶和华的律法书，走遍犹大各城教导百姓。

寡妇登记，年龄必须在六十岁以上，只作一个丈夫的妻子，又有行善的名声，就如养育儿女，收留外人，洗圣徒的脚，救济遭难的人，竭力行各样善事。

我拣选他，为要叫他命令他的子孙和后代家属遵行耶和华的道，秉公行义，使耶和华所应许亚伯拉罕的话都实现了。”
