Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not let your hair become unkempt and do not tear your clothes, or you will die and the Lord will be angry with the whole community. But your relatives, all the Israelites, may mourn for those the Lord has destroyed by fire.

Moses spoke to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar. They were Aaron’s sons. Moses said,“ Don’t let your hair hang loose. Don’t tear your clothes. If you do, you will die. And the Lord will be angry with the whole community. But all the Israelites are allowed to show they are sad. They are your relatives. They may mourn for those the Lord has destroyed with fire.

And Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar his sons,“ Do not let the hair of your heads hang loose, and do not tear your clothes, lest you die, and wrath come upon all the congregation; but let your brothers, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning that the Lord has kindled.

Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not show grief by leaving your hair uncombed or by tearing your clothes. If you do, you will die, and the Lord’s anger will strike the whole community of Israel. However, the rest of the Israelites, your relatives, may mourn because of the Lord’s fiery destruction of Nadab and Abihu.

Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not let your hair hang loose and do not tear your clothes, or else you will die, and the LORD will become angry with the whole community. However, your brothers, the whole house of Israel, may weep over the fire that the LORD caused.

Then Moses said to Aaron and to his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not uncover your heads nor tear your clothes, so that you do not die and He does not become wrathful against all the congregation. But your kinsmen, the entire house of Israel, shall weep for the burning which the Lord has brought about.

And Moses said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his sons,“ Do not uncover your heads nor tear your clothes, lest you die, and wrath come upon all the people. But let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the Lord has kindled.

And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Let not the hair of your heads go loose, neither rend your clothes; that ye die not, and that he be not wroth with all the congregation: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which Jehovah hath kindled.

Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not let your hair hang loose and do not tear your garments, or else you will die, and the Lord will become angry with the whole community. However, your brothers, the whole house of Israel, may mourn over that tragedy when the Lord sent the fire.

And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.

Then Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar his other two sons,“ Do not dishevel the hair of your heads and do not tear your garments, so that you do not die and so that wrath does not come on the whole congregation. Your brothers, all the house of Israel, are to mourn the burning which the LORD has caused,

你们今日竟转离不跟从耶和华吗？今日你们既然背叛耶和华，明日他必向以色列全体会众发怒了。

“身上患有痲风病的人，要撕裂自己的衣服，披头散发，遮盖上唇喊叫：‘不洁净！不洁净！’

从前谢拉的曾孙亚干，不是在当毁灭的物上犯了不忠的罪，以致神的忿怒临到以色列全体会众吗？因他的罪孽而死的，还不只他一人呢！’”

耶和华又向以色列人发怒，就激动大卫，使他们受害，说：“你去数点一下以色列和犹大的人数吧！”

你们要看守圣所和祭坛，免得震怒再临到以色列人。

但利未人要在法柜帐幕的四周安营，免得神的忿怒临到以色列的会众；利未人要负看守法柜的帐幕的责任。”

“‘在他离俗归耶和华的日子，不可走近死人。他的父母、兄弟或是姊妹，死了的时候，他不可因他们玷污自己，因为离俗归他神的记号，在他的头上；

“人子啊！我要打击你，把你眼中所喜爱的夺去，你却不可悲哀，不可哭泣，也不可流泪。只可静默地叹息，不可为死人哀悼；你的头上仍要缠着头巾，脚上仍要穿着鞋子；你不可蒙着脸，也不可吃为丧家预备的食物。”

利未人论到自己的父母说：‘我没有看顾他们’；他不承认自己的兄弟，也不认识自己的儿女；因为他们谨守你的话，持守你的约。

犹大啊！为你所喜爱的儿女，你要剃头，使你的头光秃，完全光秃如同秃鹰；因为他们都从你那里被掳去了。

祭司要使那妇人站在耶和华面前，松开她的头发，把思念的素祭，就是疑忌的素祭，放在她的手中，祭司的手里要拿着使人招致咒诅的苦水。

窥探那地的人中，有嫩的儿子约书亚和耶孚尼的儿子迦勒；他们撕裂衣服，

“‘你要剪去头发，并且把它抛掉，上到光秃的高冈举哀，因为耶和华摈斥、弃绝了他所憎恨的世代。’”

于是耶和华降瘟疫在以色列地，从早晨直到所定的时间；从但到别是巴，众民中死了七万人。当天使向耶路撒冷伸手，要毁灭耶路撒冷的时候，耶和华就后悔降这灾祸，就对那毁灭众民的天使说：“够了，现在住手吧！”那时，耶和华的天使在耶布斯人亚劳拿的打禾场那里。大卫看见那击杀人民的天使，就对耶和华说：“犯了罪的是我，行了恶的是我，这群羊又作了什么呢？求你的手攻击我和我的父家吧！”

第二天，以色列全体会众都向摩西和亚伦发怨言，说：“你们害死了耶和华的子民。”会众聚集攻击摩西和亚伦的时候，他们转身向会幕观看，见有云彩遮盖会幕，耶和华的荣光显现出来。摩西和亚伦就来到会幕前面。耶和华吩咐摩西说：“你们要离开这会众，我好在眨眼间把他们消灭。”他们二人就俯伏在地。摩西对亚伦说：“你要拿着香炉，把坛上的火盛在里头，又加上香，快快带到会众那里去，为他们赎罪，因为有震怒从耶和华面前出来，瘟疫已经开始了。”亚伦照着摩西吩咐的把香炉拿来，跑到会众中间，果然，瘟疫已经在人民中间开始了；他就加上香，为人民赎罪。

耶和华对摩西说：“你要对以色列人说：‘你们是硬着颈项的民；我若是霎时间与你们同行，我会把你们消灭的；所以，现在你们要把你们身上的装饰脱下来，使我知道我要怎样处置你们。’”

耶和华对摩西说：“你要告诉亚伦子孙作祭司的，对他们说：祭司不可在自己的族人中因死人玷污自己，除非骨肉至亲，例如父母、儿女、兄弟，或是仍是处女，未曾出嫁的姊妹等至亲，祭司才可以玷污自己。祭司不可为了姻亲而玷污，亵渎自己的圣职（全句或译：“祭司既为族人的首领，就不可从俗玷污”）。祭司不可剃光头发，胡须的周围不可剃掉，也不可纹身。他们要成为圣，归向他们的神，不可亵渎他们神的名，因为他们奉献耶和华的火祭，他们神的食物，所以他们要成为圣。祭司不可娶被玷辱了的妓女为妻，也不可娶被丈夫离弃的女人为妻；因为祭司是归他的神为圣的。所以你要使他分别为圣，因为他把食物献给你的神；你要以他为圣，因为我耶和华使你们分别为圣的，是圣洁的。如果祭司的女儿羞辱自己去作妓女，就是羞辱了自己的父亲；她必须用火烧死。“在兄弟中作大祭司的，头上倒了膏油，又受了圣职，得以穿着圣衣，就不可披头散发，也不可撕裂衣服。不可走近死尸，也不可为了父母玷污自己。他不可走出圣所，也不可亵渎他神的圣所，因为他神膏立了他，使他分别为圣，我是耶和华。他要娶处女为妻。寡妇、被休的妇人、受玷辱的妓女，他都不可以娶；他只可以娶自己族人中的处女为妻。不可在自己的族人中，羞辱他的后裔，因为我是使他们分别为圣的耶和华。”

以色列人犯了罪，违背了我吩咐他们的约定，因为他们取了那当毁灭的物，他们偷窃，并且说谎，又把那当毁灭的物放在自己的物件中。
