在富贵人的家里（“富贵人的家里”原文作“大房子”），不但有金器、银器，也有木器、瓦器；有贵重的，也有卑贱的。

我们有这宝贝在瓦器里，是要显明这极大的能力是属于神，不是出于我们。

我把犹大作我手上拉开的弓，把以法莲作我弓上的箭。锡安哪！我必激动你的众子，去攻击希腊的众子；我必使你像勇士的刀剑。

众领袖被敌人吊起来；长老也不受人尊敬。

少年人和老年人都在街上倒卧在地死了；我的年轻男女都倒毙于刀下；在你忿怒的日子，你杀了他们，你屠杀了他们，毫不怜惜。

陶匠难道没有权用同一团的泥，又做贵重的、又做卑贱的器皿吗？如果神有意要显明他的忿怒，彰显他的大能，而多多容忍那可怒、预备遭毁灭的器皿，为了要使他丰盛的荣耀，彰显在那蒙恩、早已预备要得荣耀的器皿上，这又有什么不可呢？

她所生的众子中，没有一个引导她的；她养大的众子中，没有一个扶持她的。

哥尼雅这个人是被鄙视、被摔碎的瓶子，是没有人喜悦的器皿吗？他和他的后裔为什么被驱赶，被抛弃到他们不认识的地去呢？
