以色列人也必多日獨居，無君王，無首領，無祭祀，無柱像，無以弗得，無家中的神像。

以色列人不信真神，沒有訓誨的祭司，也沒有律法，已經好久了；

他們對我說：「那些被擄歸回剩下的人在猶大省遭大難，受凌辱；並且耶路撒冷的城牆拆毀，城門被火焚燒。」

災害加上災害，風聲接連風聲；他們必向先知求異象，但祭司講的律法、長老設的謀略都必斷絕。

你們必遭遇黑夜，以致不見異象；又必遭遇幽暗，以致不能占卜。日頭必向你們沉落，白晝變為黑暗。先見必抱愧，占卜的必蒙羞，都必摀着嘴唇，因為神不應允他們。

我們不見我們的標幟，不再有先知；我們內中也沒有人知道這災禍要到幾時呢！

「耶和華必將你和你所立的王領到你和你列祖素不認識的國去；在那裏你必事奉木頭石頭的神。

巴比倫的勇士止息爭戰，藏在堅壘之中。他們的勇力衰盡，好像婦女一樣。巴比倫的住處有火着起，門閂都折斷了。

主耶和華說：日子將到，我必命饑荒降在地上。人飢餓非因無餅，乾渴非因無水，乃因不聽耶和華的話。他們必飄流，從這海到那海，從北邊到東邊，往來奔跑，尋求耶和華的話，卻尋不着。

迦勒底的軍隊追趕西底家王，在耶利哥的平原追上他。他的全軍都離開他四散了。迦勒底人就拿住王，帶他到在哈馬地利比拉的巴比倫王那裏；巴比倫王便審判他。

猶大王約雅斤和他母親、臣僕、首領、太監一同出城，投降巴比倫王；巴比倫王便拿住他。那時是巴比倫王第八年。巴比倫王將耶和華殿和王宮裏的寶物都拿去了，將以色列王所羅門所造耶和華殿裏的金器都毀壞了，正如耶和華所說的；又將耶路撒冷的眾民和眾首領，並所有大能的勇士，共一萬人，連一切木匠、鐵匠都擄了去；除了國中極貧窮的人以外，沒有剩下的；並將約雅斤和王母、后妃、太監，與國中的大官，都從耶路撒冷擄到巴比倫去了；又將一切勇士七千人和木匠、鐵匠一千人，都是能上陣的勇士，全擄到巴比倫去了。

猶大因遭遇苦難，又因多服勞苦就遷到外邦。她住在列國中，尋不着安息；追逼她的都在狹窄之地將她追上。

在西底家眼前殺了他的眾子，並且剜了西底家的眼睛，用銅鍊鎖着他，帶到巴比倫去。

耶和華對我說：「那些先知託我的名說假預言，我並沒有打發他們，沒有吩咐他們，也沒有對他們說話；他們向你們預言的，乃是虛假的異象和占卜，並虛無的事，以及本心的詭詐。

耶和華的受膏者好比我們鼻中的氣，在他們的坑中被捉住；我們曾論到他說：我們必在他蔭下，在列國中存活。

西底家十一年四月初九日，城被攻破。

跟從護衛長迦勒底的全軍就拆毀耶路撒冷四圍的城牆。

人向他們喊着說：不潔淨的，躲開，躲開！不要挨近我！他們逃走飄流的時候，列國中有人說：他們不可仍在這裏寄居。
