因为以色列人也要独居多日；没有君王，没有领袖，没有祭祀，没有柱像，没有以弗得，也没有家中的神像。

以色列人没有真神，没有教导他们的祭司，没有律法，已经很久了。

我们看不见我们的记号，也不再有先知；我们中间也没有人知道这灾祸要到几时。

犹大王约雅斤和他的母亲、众臣仆、众领袖，以及众太监，出城投降巴比伦王。巴比伦王于是捉住他。那时，是巴比伦王在位第八年。他又从耶路撒冷把耶和华殿一切宝物和王宫的宝物取去，并且把以色列王所罗门在耶和华殿所做的一切金器都捣毁，就像耶和华所说的。他又掳去耶路撒冷的众民、众领袖，以及英勇的战士共一万人，还有工匠、铁匠；除了国民中最贫穷的以外，没有剩下的。他把约雅斤掳到巴比伦去，又把太后、后妃、太监和国中的要员都从耶路撒冷掳到巴比伦；还有七千位战士，一千位工匠和铁匠，全都是能作战的勇士，巴比伦王把他们都掳到巴比伦去。

犹大受尽痛苦，饱经劳役，更遭流徙异地。她住在列国中，找不着安居之所。在困境之中，追赶她的人把她追上了。

他们又在西底家眼前杀了他的众子，并且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎，然后用铜链锁住他，把他带到巴比伦去。

我要把我的网撒在他身上，他必被我的网罗网住；我要把他带到巴比伦，就是迦勒底人之地；他不会看见那地，却要死在那里。

耶和华对我说：“那些先知借我的名说假预言；我并没有差遣他们，没有吩咐他们，也没有向他们说话。他们对你们所预言的，是虚假的异象、占卜的预兆、虚无的事，和他们自己心里的诡诈。”

耶和华所膏立的，我们鼻孔的气息，在他们的陷坑中被捉住；我们论到他曾说：“我们要在他的荫庇之下，在列国中存活。”

西底家第十一年四月九日，城被攻破。

跟随护卫长的迦勒底人全军拆毁了耶路撒冷周围所有的城墙。

有人向他们喊叫：“走开！你们不洁的人；走开！走开！不要触摸我。”他们到处逃亡飘流的时候，列国的人就说：“他们再不能在这里寄居。”
