至上天使米迦勒、與魔鬼爭摩西屍、猶不敢詬誶定其罪、惟曰、主責爾矣、

天使長米迦勒為摩西之屍與魔爭、猶不敢用謗言以罪之、惟曰、主責爾、

昔總領天神彌額爾與魔鬼奪摩西屍體也、猶且不敢擅作威福、加以無謂之凌辱、僅曰：『願主責爾』而已。

But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said,“ The Lord rebuke you!”

But even Michael, the leader of the angels, didn’t dare to say these things. He didn’t even say these things when he argued with the devil about the body of Moses. Michael didn’t dare to judge the devil. He didn’t say the devil was guilty of saying evil things. Instead, Michael said,“ May the Lord judge you!”

But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said,“ The Lord rebuke you.”

But even Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels, did not dare accuse the devil of blasphemy, but simply said,“ The Lord rebuke you!”( This took place when Michael was arguing with the devil about Moses’ body.)

But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him an abusive judgment, but said,“ The Lord rebuke you!”

Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said,“ The Lord rebuke you!”

But Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing judgment, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

Yet Michael the archangel, when he was disputing with the Devil in a debate about Moses’ body, did not dare bring an abusive condemnation against him but said,“ The Lord rebuke you!”

Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

But even when Michael the archangel was arguing with the devil and debating with him concerning Moses’ body, he did not dare to bring a slanderous judgment, but said,“ May the Lord rebuke you!”

But Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil and arguing about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him an abusive condemnation, but said,“ May the Lord rebuke you!”

Then war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels also fought,

The LORD said to Satan,“ The LORD rebuke you, Satan! May the LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Isn’t this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?”

He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab facing Beth-peor, and no one to this day knows where his grave is.

however, angels, who are greater in might and power, do not bring a slanderous charge against them before the Lord.

However, I will tell you what is recorded in the book of truth.( No one has the courage to support me against those princes except Michael, your prince.

At that time Michael, the great prince who stands watch over your people, will rise up. There will be a time of distress such as never has occurred since nations came into being until that time. But at that time all your people who are found written in the book will escape.

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me after I had been left there with the kings of Persia.

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

Those who passed by were yelling insults at him, shaking their heads, and saying,“ Ha! The one who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,

Then one of the criminals hanging there began to yell insults at him:“ Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”But the other answered, rebuking him:“ Don’t you even fear God, since you are undergoing the same punishment?

“ Say this to King Hezekiah of Judah:‘ Don’t let your God, on whom you rely, deceive you by promising that Jerusalem won’t be handed over to the king of Assyria.Look, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the countries: they completely destroyed them. Will you be rescued?Did the gods of the nations that my predecessors destroyed rescue them— Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the Edenites in Telassar?Where is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, or Ivvah?’”Hezekiah took the letter from the messengers’ hands, read it, then went up to the LORD’s temple and spread it out before the LORD.Then Hezekiah prayed to the LORD:LORD of Armies, God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you are God— you alone— of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth.Listen closely, LORD, and hear; open your eyes, LORD, and see. Hear all the words that Sennacherib has sent to mock the living God.LORD, it is true that the kings of Assyria have devastated all these countries and their lands.They have thrown their gods into the fire, for they were not gods but made from wood and stone by human hands. So they have destroyed them.Now, LORD our God, save us from his power so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, LORD, are God— you alone.

David went out to meet them and said to them,“ If you have come in peace to help me, my heart will be united with you, but if you have come to betray me to my enemies even though my hands have done no wrong, may the God of our ancestors look on it and judge.”

not paying back evil for evil or insult for insult but, on the contrary, giving a blessing, since you were called for this, so that you may inherit a blessing.

Then the royal spokesman stood and called out loudly in Hebrew: Listen to the words of the great king, the king of Assyria!This is what the king says:“ Don’t let Hezekiah deceive you, for he cannot rescue you.Don’t let Hezekiah persuade you to rely on the LORD, saying,‘ The LORD will certainly rescue us! This city will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.’”Don’t listen to Hezekiah, for this is what the king of Assyria says:“ Make peace with me and surrender to me. Then every one of you may eat from his own vine and his own fig tree and drink water from his own cisternuntil I come and take you away to a land like your own land— a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.Beware that Hezekiah does not mislead you by saying,‘ The LORD will rescue us.’ Has any one of the gods of the nations rescued his land from the power of the king of Assyria?Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? Have they rescued Samaria from my power?Who among all the gods of these lands ever rescued his land from my power? So will the LORD rescue Jerusalem from my power?”But they kept silent; they didn’t say anything, for the king’s command was,“ Don’t answer him.”

They said to him,“ This is what Hezekiah says:‘ Today is a day of distress, rebuke, and disgrace. It is as if children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to deliver them.Perhaps the LORD your God will hear all the words of the royal spokesman, whom his master the king of Assyria sent to mock the living God, and will rebuke him for the words that the LORD your God has heard. Therefore offer a prayer for the surviving remnant.’”

“ You must not blaspheme God or curse a leader among your people.
