“ Stop acting so proud and haughty! Don’t speak with such arrogance! For the Lord is a God who knows what you have done; he will judge your actions.

How long will they speak with arrogance? How long will these evil people boast?

“ The king will do as he pleases, exalting himself and claiming to be greater than every god, even blaspheming the God of gods. He will succeed, but only until the time of wrath is completed. For what has been determined will surely take place.

So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.

God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say,“ You must remove the evil person from among you.”

Silence their lying lips— those proud and arrogant lips that accuse the godly.

He who is the faithful witness to all these things says,“ Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God.For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.

For he has set a day for judging the world with justice by the man he has appointed, and he proved to everyone who this is by raising him from the dead.”

And he has given him authority to judge everyone because he is the Son of Man.

Later, God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into heaps of ashes. He made them an example of what will happen to ungodly people.But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him.Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day.So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment.

“ You have said terrible things about me,” says the Lord.“ But you say,‘ What do you mean? What have we said against you?’“ You have said,‘ What’s the use of serving God? What have we gained by obeying his commands or by trying to show the Lord of Heaven’s Armies that we are sorry for our sins?From now on we will call the arrogant blessed. For those who do evil get rich, and those who dare God to punish them suffer no harm.’”

before the Lord, for he is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with justice, and the nations with fairness.

“ So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven— except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which will never be forgiven.Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come.“ A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad.You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart.And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak.The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.”

Young people, it’s wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do.

He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.

The Lord, the Mighty One, is God, and he has spoken; he has summoned all humanity from where the sun rises to where it sets.From Mount Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines in glorious radiance.Our God approaches, and he is not silent. Fire devours everything in his way, and a great storm rages around him.He calls on the heavens above and earth below to witness the judgment of his people.“ Bring my faithful people to me— those who made a covenant with me by giving sacrifices.”Then let the heavens proclaim his justice, for God himself will be the judge. For the law was not intended for people who do what is right. It is for people who are lawless and rebellious, who are ungodly and sinful, who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy, who kill their father or mother or commit other murders.

In addition, the Father judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge,so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.

So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time— before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.

“ Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will be permitted to enter through the gates of the city and eat the fruit from the tree of life.Outside the city are the dogs— the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idol worshipers, and all who love to live a lie.

But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.

I also asked about the ten horns on the fourth beast’s head and the little horn that came up afterward and destroyed three of the other horns. This horn had seemed greater than the others, and it had human eyes and a mouth that was boasting arrogantly.

They boast against the very heavens, and their words strut throughout the earth.

Then Moses added,“ The Lord will give you meat to eat in the evening and bread to satisfy you in the morning, for he has heard all your complaints against him. What have we done? Yes, your complaints are against the Lord, not against us.”

But the Lord reigns forever, executing judgment from his throne.He will judge the world with justice and rule the nations with fairness.

the Lord has spoken this word against him:“ The virgin daughter of Zion despises you and laughs at you. The daughter of Jerusalem shakes her head in derision as you flee.“ Whom have you been defying and ridiculing? Against whom did you raise your voice? At whom did you look with such haughty eyes? It was the Holy One of Israel!By your messengers you have defied the Lord. You have said,‘ With my many chariots I have conquered the highest mountains— yes, the remotest peaks of Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars and its finest cypress trees. I have reached its farthest heights and explored its deepest forests.I have dug wells in many foreign lands and refreshed myself with their water. With the sole of my foot, I stopped up all the rivers of Egypt!’“ But have you not heard? I decided this long ago. Long ago I planned it, and now I am making it happen. I planned for you to crush fortified cities into heaps of rubble.That is why their people have so little power and are so frightened and confused. They are as weak as grass, as easily trampled as tender green shoots. They are like grass sprouting on a housetop, scorched before it can grow lush and tall.“ But I know you well— where you stay and when you come and go. I know the way you have raged against me.And because of your raging against me and your arrogance, which I have heard for myself, I will put my hook in your nose and my bit in your mouth. I will make you return by the same road on which you came.”Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah,“ Here is the proof that what I say is true:“ This year you will eat only what grows up by itself, and next year you will eat what springs up from that. But in the third year you will plant crops and harvest them; you will tend vineyards and eat their fruit.And you who are left in Judah, who have escaped the ravages of the siege, will put roots down in your own soil and grow up and flourish.For a remnant of my people will spread out from Jerusalem, a group of survivors from Mount Zion. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!“ And this is what the Lord says about the king of Assyria:“‘ His armies will not enter Jerusalem. They will not even shoot an arrow at it. They will not march outside its gates with their shields nor build banks of earth against its walls.The king will return to his own country by the same road on which he came. He will not enter this city,’ says the Lord.‘ For my own honor and for the sake of my servant David, I will defend this city and protect it.’”That night the angel of the Lord went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere.

Then the beast was allowed to speak great blasphemies against God. And he was given authority to do whatever he wanted for forty two months.And he spoke terrible words of blasphemy against God, slandering his name and his dwelling— that is, those who dwell in heaven.

God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.

These people are grumblers and complainers, living only to satisfy their desires. They brag loudly about themselves, and they flatter others to get what they want.
