恶人却像翻腾的海，不能平静，海中的水不住翻起污秽和淤泥来。

第三位天使吹号，就有一颗燃烧着的大星，好像火把一样，从天上落下来，落在江河的三分之一上，和众水的泉源上。这星名叫“苦堇”。众水的三分之一变为“苦堇”，因水变苦，就有许多人因为这水而死了。

那迷惑他们的魔鬼，被抛在硫磺的火湖里，就是兽和假先知所在的地方。他们必昼夜受痛苦，直到永永远远。

耶和华啊！大水扬起了，大水扬起了声音，大水扬起了澎湃的波浪。耶和华在高处大有能力，胜过大水的响声，胜过海中的巨浪。

‘你们连我都不惧怕吗？在我面前你们也不战兢吗？’这是耶和华的宣告。‘我以沙作海的疆界，作永远的界限，海就不能越过；波浪翻腾，却不能漫过；怒涛澎湃，仍无法逾越。可是这人民，竟存着顽梗悖逆的心；背我而去。’

你平息了海洋的洪涛和澎湃的巨浪，以及万民的喧哗。

但恶人和骗子必越来越坏，他们欺骗人，也必受欺骗。

他就必定喝神烈怒的酒：这酒是斟在神震怒的杯中，纯一不杂的。他必定在众天使和羊羔面前，在火与硫磺之中受痛苦。他们受痛苦的烟往上冒，直到永永远远。那些拜兽和兽像的，以及接受它名字的记号的人，日夜得不到安息。”

只是那些胆怯的、不信的、可憎的、杀人的、淫乱的、行邪术的、拜偶像的和所有说谎的人，他们的分是在烧着硫磺的火湖里。这就是第二次的死。”
