現在求你們指着永恆主向我起誓：我既恩待你們，你們也要恩待我父的家，並給我一個可靠的信號，來救活我的父親、母親、我的弟兄姐妹、以及一切屬於他們的，而援救我們的性命不致死亡。』二人對她說：你若不把我們這件事告訴人，我們情願替你們死；那麼永恆主將這地賜給我們的時候，我們必定拿忠愛與誠信待你。』於是女人用繩子將二人從窗戶裏縋下去，因為她的房子是在城與廓之間的牆上；她是住在牆上的。她對他們說：『你們且往山地上去，免得追趕的人襲擊你們；你們要在那裏藏匿着三天，等追趕的人回來，然後你們才可以走你們的路。二人就對她說：『以下這幾件事你總要行，不然、你叫我們起的誓就與我們無干了。注意吧，我們來到這地的時候，你要把這條朱紅線繩子繫在你縋我們下去的窗戶上；你也要叫你父親、母親、你弟兄、和你父全家、都聚集在你家中。凡出了你家門到外邊去的，流他血的罪就必歸到他自己的頭上，與我們無干；凡在你家裏的、若有人下手害他，流他血的罪總要歸到我們頭上。

約書亞對偵探那地的兩個人說：『進那廟妓女的家，照你們向她所起誓的將那婦人和她一切所有的、都從那裏帶出來。』做偵探的兩個青年人就進去，將喇合和她父親、母親、弟兄、和她一切所有的、跟她一切家屬、都帶出來，安頓在以色列營外。眾人就把城和其中一切所有的都用火燒；只有金銀和銅鐵的器皿、都交與永恆主的寶庫。廟妓喇合和她父親的家、跟她一切所有的、約書亞卻讓活着；她就住在以色列中、直到今日，因為她藏了約書亞所打發去偵探耶利哥的使者。

不可跟他們和他們的神立約。

我甚麼時候論到一邦或一國說，要拔除，要拆毁，要毁滅，我所論到的那一邦若轉回離開他們的壞事，那我就後悔我想要降與他們的災禍了。

『你臨近一座城、要攻擊它的時候，要向那城宣告和平的話。它若將和平的話答覆你，給你開門，那麼、城裏所有的人民、就都要給你做苦工、服事你。
